The main way to get more dragons is by advanced summoning with diamonds.
Doing a 10+1 summon will give you Rare dragons, with a guaranteed chance of 1 or more dragons being Heroic or Legendary.
The rates of getting a Legendary dragon are very low, but do not fear, as this game is very generous with Diamonds, and every now and then, you will be gifted with a Legendary Egg that is guaranteed to hatch a Legendary dragon.
You can also see that Light and Dark dragons are much rarer than Earth, Water, and Fire dragons. This is important information in determining what to do with 'bad' dragons.
An initial 10+1 costs 3000 diamonds.
Every consequent pull costs 2700 diamonds as long as you do not return to the Summon page. Save your diamonds for good banners!
When you access the Summon page, you will see that you can do 2 types of Advanced Summoning:
The Rate-Up Advanced Summon contains all the same dragons that you can get from normal Advanced Summon, but you will have an increased chance of pulling a dragon that is on the banner. Thus, these banners are your best bet at getting a specific dragon.
The Rate-Up banner changes roughly every two weeks.
They may change to 1 new dragon, or 2 different already-existing dragons.
When a new Rate-Up banner is put on, try to gauge whether or not it is a good dragon. If it is a good dragon, summon in the Rate-Up banner!
If it is an undesirable dragon, you may be better off doing a normal advanced summon. However, summoning in banners is very worth it if the dragon is a good one, so try to save for good banners. It might also be useful to summon the rate-up dragons if they are elements you require for Mastery.
You cannot get limited dragons or topaz dragons from summoning.
Using 200 Friendship Points per summon, you can do a Friendship Summon. Friendship Points summon a Normal (1-star to 2-star) or Rare dragon.
Friendship Summon is the only way to obtain Light and Dark Normal dragons, apart from Relationship Dungeons, as Light and Dark Normal dragons cannot be obtained through eggs.
Whenever you do an advanced summon, you gain 10 mileage for every 300 diamonds you spend. (This means that if you do a discounted consequent pull, you get 90 mileage from that pull rather than 100.)
The recommended eggs to buy with these are either Fantasy or Legendary.
During early to mid-game when you do not have many (or any!) Legendary dragons, you may wish to save for Legendary eggs.
If you are satisfied with the number of Legendary dragons you have, or need fodder Rares more than you need more fodder Legendaries, you can start gambling on Fantasy.
You can obtain relationship points from:
Relationship points can be used to summon a dragon or to enhance a dragon.
When you summon a dragon using relationship points, you need:
These are also the number of relationship points you gain when you farewell your dragon.
Gathering relationship points is the most reliable way of summoning a dragon you want. While summoning is hugely helpful, it is still entirely up to luck. By buying relationship points from the Witch's Cauldron, or looking for and playing in Relationship Dungeons, you have minimised the luck factor by some way.
See the page on the Witch's Cauldron for the cost of buying a dragon with relationship points, and the page on Enhancement for how many enhancement or relationship points are needed to max enhance a dragon.
