Part of the ED 225 course requirements is to create a Google Site that compiles all of the students' projects and technology work for the semester. I initially instituted this requirement as an easy way for me to grade student assignments, and an easy way for students to keep all of their work in one place.
As the course has evolved, so has the use of their Google Site. Students still use their class Google Site to collect their class assignments and submit them for grading. Throughout the semester, the site now slowly evolves into an E-Folio that chronicles their work AND skill development in ED 225 as well as outside of the class. At the end of the ED 225 semester, students are encouraged to edit and add pages and work as they see fit for their future careers. The goal is to have a digital collection of all of their work, experiences and skills that they can share during interviews after they leave the class and eventually the program.
Below is an example of a completed student E-Folio in the old Google Site format, and then an example of an E-Folio in the new Google Site format so far this semester. As you can see, the new Google Site format is much more "website-like," and lends well to an attractive digital portfolio.
