When Dominican College obtained access to Office 365, I began to research what aspects of this platform were being used in K-12 and higher education. I came across Microsoft for Educators, and with that came a OneNote for Educators platform that allowed teachers and students to work digitally and collaboratively (at different times AND in real time) using the OneNote software. In order to familiarize my students with this exciting software, I created a classroom in OneNote and assigned students work in various individual and group folders. This test evolved into a construction of a DBQ (Document Based Questions) assignment, which is an assignment that is used often in K-12 education. Our students, however, created the assignment with collaborative and visual capabilities, thereby further enhancing the level of student work (more resources available) and providing a sound example for interviews of their knowledge of OneNote for Educators software.
