Tobiano is a recessive, uncommon marking that creates concave, asymmetrical white patches across the body like piebald except for the head. Up to 70% of the design may be whited out with Tobiano, but the face must be left alone, and at least some white must go over the back of the neck or shoulders.

Tobiano patches must look like they've had chunks erased out of them, and not have blob-like shapes as if they were drawn in or like white spots.
