Dracovix are capable of learning magic as other intelligent races do. They tend to categorize their magic similarly to humanoids, where people use terms like “white magic” and “black magic”. Dracovix call their magic “inner magic” and “outer magic”.
Inner magic is sourced from within, drawing upon the magic user’s own energy to power fantastic alchemical reactions, conjure elements such as fire, transmute materials, summon objects over space and time, etc.
Outer magic is sourced from outside the magic user, often using the energy of nature in their environment, or the target’s own energy reserves, commanding them to change or self heal.
Even when dracovix specialize in one form of magic over the other, such as magecraft over healing, they still have some degree of understanding and ability to manipulate the other. Most dracovix who specialize in “outer magic” have a polytheistic faith in the innate divinity of the world and the living and nonliving things within it.
Many dracovix like to master the inner magic-based ability to temporarily change their form to that of a humanoid. Their humanoid form depends on the individual’s preferences, and can range from being anthropomorphic or kemonomimi style, with or without wings. Most dracovix find that wings just get in the way in humanoid settlements. Very advanced masters of shape changing are able to almost completely disguise themselves as a regular humanoid with only their dracovix tail betraying their identities, and even then, there will be additional similarities, such as shared eye and hair colors. This is the fullest possible level of shapeshifting disguise as a humanoid a dracovix can take. But many dracovix like to preserve their identities as a dracovix in small ways, even if they try to look as unassumingly humanoid as possible.
