Dracovix are incredibly playful and rambunctious, and will get into trouble when bored. They are not above yoinking shiny things that catch their eye, but they will sheepishly return the gadgets they nabbed if confronted by someone of higher social status. They are incredibly fox-like, and embody the "cat software (with eagle talons) on dog hardware (with bat wings)" stereotype. They are known for being drama queens as well as outrageously curious.
In terms of intelligence, they are considered to be capable of feats of higher level cognition on the same level as the smartest of humans, but their median intelligence is just a bit lower. In other words, most dracovix are on average just a little bit less intelligent overall than humans, but plenty are perfectly capable of contending with the most prestigious of humans in academics.
In addition to being able to speak and write in the language of dracovix, they also make a wide variety of fox, big cat, and raptor-like noises for communication, expression, and self defense.
Gender roles are not a concept to them, but dracovix express their gender identity in a variety of ways, often inspired by humanoids they've met.
To dracovix, the tail and the horns are the biggest physical attraction points of a potential romantic partner. Some dracovix have a preference for tails, while others may have a preference for horns. Debates have been known to spark up between dracovix on which is more attractive: tails, horns, or perhaps...personality?
Dracovix are more social than most would give them credit for, and they have the emotional intellect to get along, but with that also comes conflict when peacekeeping efforts fail. Dracovix will often form alliances composed of members of their communities based on mutual trust, family ties, and shared resources, and fight other dracovix or alliances of dracovixen for dominance and socio-political power.
Dracovix tend to lean towards eating meat, but they are not obligate carnivores, and may enjoy all sorts of foods, especially now that many dracovix have brought back interesting recipes and cooking techniques from the humanoid realm.
A dracovix’s saliva is mildly venomous, and works as a sedative, and they use this for hunting prey. This saliva is almost never deadly to humans unless they happen to be allergic to it, instead causing only temporary muscle weakness, a feeling of drunkenness, and tingling in the source of the infection. Of course, dracovix are immune to dracovix venom. Dracovix often groom their own fur, but the amount of venom that gets on their coat becomes completely impotent after drying or evaporating.
After delivering a bite, most animals will slow down and physically weaken enough for the dracovix to overtake them with ease and deliver a killing blow. Dracovix don’t have the tools to put down their prey with vicious crushing bites, and they prefer not to make a mess out of their food, lowering the quality of the meat left for them and leaving unnecessary evidence of their kills in the wild by hunting carelessly. Instead, they’ll usually grab the creature in their maw by the head or torso and give a powerful flick of their heads, snapping the prey animal's neck or spine.
When eating meat they’ve hunted, dracovix rarely chew their food. Instead, they opt to manually shred their food into manageable pieces using their teeth and front claws for leverage, then use their stronger molars in the back of their mouth for crushing any big, hard bits. Finally, when their meal is soft and comfortable enough, they swallow, using their sharp rows of needle-like teeth like a python’s and their barbed tongue to grip and slide the meat down their throats.
A dracovix’s biorhythm is adaptable and can change depending on the circumstances and priorities of the Dracovix, such as to adhere to better hunting hours for their biome, or to match that of their community or kingdom.
When selecting a background for your dracovix, you may pick based off what you want your character's biorhythm to be, or whatever looks best to you and complements your dracovix's design. Biorhythm has no in-game mechanical effect.
