Dracovix are a type of mammalian six-limbed, flighted fox-like “dragon” with long limbs and a mixture of canine and big cat feline-like anatomy among other shapes. They can be as small as a halflinger pony (53"/135 cm), or as tall as a clydesdale horse (77"/195 cm) and are measured at the top of their shoulders, at the base of the back of their necks and before the wing muscles. They sport large, leathery bat-like wings semi-covered with soft, thick feathers. Their front paws are slightly bird-like, with long digits for gripping strength and dexterity, fully padded and sporting huge curved talons. Their hind legs are designed for leaping from the ground to take off into flight. Their tails are long and tapered, with a slightly thinner base than that of typical dragons or lizards, and have the physical movement, shape, and flexibility like that of a thylacoleo.
Their bodies have a natural arch in their spine to support the weight of their wing muscles, a deep chest with powerful lungs, and sloped hips.
Their heads have a fox-like shape with cheek fluff that gives them a triangular head shape, and a wedge-shaped muzzle filled with sharp, needle-like teeth meant for gripping and swallowing meat. They have tiny incisors at the front of their jaws for carefully trimming away small bits of food. Their tongues have a spoon-like shape and are covered in backward facing barbs for grooming, skinning their food, and ease of swallowing food. Their noses are dog-like, and the fur from their muzzle blends almost seamlessly into a very fine layer of fur over the nose under which the flesh is visible.
Their sharp eyes are forward-facing for spotting prey, and their facial structure features flattened cheekbones to allow them a large field of view extending below them at high altitudes. Their pupils can contract to a slit shape when stealth hunting in the jungle. Nocturnal dracovix will have larger pupils overall while predominantly diurnal dracovix will have smaller pupils. Dracovix living in different parts of the world will often adapt their biorhythms to the most ideal times to hunt depending on their biome.
Dracovix all have a set of horns which serve as decoration and sometimes self defense. They have soft, external ears that can swivel in all directions which they heavily rely on to communicate non-verbally to each other.
When drawing a dracovix in the ARPG, you are more than welcome to stylize and simplify their anatomy to a significant extent! The only situation in which art might not pass is if the dracovix is so simplified that its physical features, like ears, horns, toes, wings, etc., or design, are no longer present. If a dracovix is simplified to a stick-figure like style so that the colors and markings on its limbs aren't visible, it might not be countable for Np or quest entries.
