Raptor seems to be a genetic remnant from family branches in a dracovix's evolutionary tree. This rare mutation causes the dracovix to sprout feathers in other places around its body, and the feathery covering on its wings becomes more pronounced.

The designer of a Raptor dracovix may customize the feathering, redrawing the lineart, moving them around or adding more, as long as the base design and dracovix anatomy isn't obscured heavily.
