DinnerDate is a singles auction to bid for dinner with a chosen contestant. An advertisement drawing single people together into a room where the rules are explained.

  • All entrants must sign an actors waiver to participate.

  • All entrants can be a contestant or part of the audience

  • Women grouped at one end of the room, men at the other end.

  • Everyone given a numbered bidding card & any gender can bid on any number.

  • WARNING - Be kind to each participant and their feelings.

  • Hand held over each entrants head, everyone can clap to select the contestant.

  • Run off if two or more people are selected as Contestants.

  • One male and one female are selected as Contestants

  • Contestants must present a credit card to participate ( in advance )

The Auction bidding can be done in person with a studio audience or online with people pre-chosen and using Zoom live streaming video conference. Variations on the theme could include a fundraiser with the proceeds going to a specific charity or a Celebrity fundraiser where a chosen Celebrity chooses their own charity.

The DinnerDate Auction can expand into various cities and franchising the concept is a realistic business opportunity for someone with a portable film crew.

This live event may end up becoming a singles party with other singles, so regardless of who wins, the participants may meet other like minded singles.

To implement this concept, a restaurant with attached kitchen needs to be rented or exchanged for promotional consideration, as one of the people needed will include a Chef who can explain what the selected contestants are going to be served for dinner. This explanation of the ingredients will include a typical 7 course dinner, paired with wine, flowers, table seating that can be filmed by a film crew, sound tech, lighting tech, description of the restaurant by a Master of Ceremonies (MC) with a possible Intro Person who describes the whole event.

One half of the program should be left for the Male contestant ( assuming female is first ) and the venue, chef and dinner description will be the same.

This event will be taped and television distribution rights or Netflix, Hulu, Video Prime or other streaming services will attempted to be obtained. As a weekly event, streaming from DinnerDate Vancouver, DD Toronto, DD Los Angeles, etc, this production will attempt to attract audiences from around the world.

The MC will announce the female contestants first name only, what her occupation is, height, measurements, life accomplishments, hopes and dreams for a partner and the MC will embellish the points of interest in the contestant. The MC picks the starting bid and points to various people in the audience or staff manning the phone or zoom video lines so that viewers can see the bidding and know bids are not fake.

Once a winning bid has been accepted, the contestants are led up to a seperate dining table and videoed while being served during the introduction of another contestant.

Using phones to receive bids can attract higher bids from wealthy out of town participants

Celebrity's love to see their names in lights. During these in-active times, many well known actors can be attracted to the lime light with no cost other than their time and assist their chosen charity with a large cash donation by fans. If implemented, Doug gets to meet the celebrity. ( grin )
