LIGAO CITY, ALBAY โ The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Ligao City conducted the Division Training Workshop on Cybersecurity and Learning Resource Management Information System (LRMIS) on August 19, 2026, at ITOโs Private Villa, Bonga, Ligao City. The activity aimed to strengthen personnel's digital skills, raise cybersecurity awareness, and improve the use of LRMIS and other learning-resource-management platforms.
The training featured sessions on essential digital security and learning resource management concerns. John Peรฑaflor, Engineer II of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region V, discussed cybersecurity, focusing on common digital threats, preventive measures, and responsible practices for protecting data, accounts, devices, and online systems.
The utilization of the Learning Resource Management Information System (LRMIS) was discussed by Jay Bolaรฑos, PDO-II, CID-LRMS, SDO Ligao City, highlighting the systemโs role in inventory management, monitoring, and efficient management of learning resources. Meanwhile, Jaypee Divinaflor, Information Technology Officer (ITO), presented the SDO Ligao City Website and HelpDesk, emphasizing the importance of accessible digital services and responsive technical support.
Rommel Carl R. Peralta, Education Program Supervisor for the Learning Resource Management Section (EPS-LRMS), presented updates on learning resources, sharing relevant information on current initiatives, policies, and developments in learning resource management.
Schools Division Superintendent Nympha D. Guemo also shared an inspirational message, emphasizing the importance of digital responsibility, collaboration, and efficient systems in delivering quality education and services to schools and learners.
The training was attended by Administrative Officers, selected PDO-I personnel, and School Heads from the SDO Ligao City. Through the activity, participants gained practical knowledge and updated competencies in cybersecurity, LRMIS utilization, digital services, and learning resource management.
The initiative reflects SDO Ligao Cityโs continuing commitment to strengthening digital governance and modernizing learning resource management systems while ensuring that personnel are equipped to protect information, maximize technology, and provide efficient support to schools and learners

LIGAO CITY, ALBAY โ The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Ligao City conducted two division-wide workshops to develop and quality-assure contextualized, curriculum-responsive literacy resources for early grade learners and remediation activities.
The Division Writeshop on the Development of Supplementary and Contextualized Early Grades Materials and Other Literacy Resources, held on May 4โ8, 2026, at Bernese Resort, Paulog, Ligao City, brought together selected teachers to develop supplementary reading materials for Grades 1โ10. This was followed by the Division Workshop on the Refinement and Quality Assurance of the Developed Supplementary and Contextualized Early Grades Materials and Other Literacy Resources for Remediation Activities on May 18โ19, 2026, which focused on reviewing and enhancing the materials for curriculum alignment, contextual relevance, inclusivity, and instructional quality.
The initiative was led by EPS in English Maria Grecia Renolayan, in partnership with the Learning Resource Management Section (LRMS) headed by EPS Rommel Carl R. Peralta. Through collaborative writing, technical review, validation, and quality assurance, the workshops produced standards-based and context-responsive resources designed to strengthen learnersโ reading comprehension, vocabulary, phonological awareness, fluency, and overall literacy skills.
Through these initiatives, SDO Ligao City continues to empower teachers with quality learning resources that support effective literacy instruction, remediation, and meaningful learning experiences for all learners.
Ligao City Hosts Division Workshop on Development of Lesson Guides and Storybooks for Key Stage 1 Learners
LIGAO CITY, Albay โ The Department of Education through the DepEd SDO Ligao City โ Learning Resource Management Section conducted a three-day Division Training Workshop on the Development of Lesson Guides and Storybooks for Key Stage 1 (KS1) learners on February 11โ13, 2026.
Held at Bernese Hotel Resort in Paulog, Ligao City, the activity gathered local story writers and illustrators in a collaborative effort to produce contextualized and learner-centered instructional materials for early grade learners.
The primary objective of the workshop was to develop quality-assured lesson guides and storybooks tailored for KS1 pupils. The initiative aims to strengthen foundational literacy skills by providing engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant learning resources.
The activity was spearheaded by Rommel Carl Peralta, Education Program Supervisor. He emphasized the importance of developing localized materials that reflect the learnersโ experiences while aligning with curriculum standards. Participants engaged in discussions on effective story writing techniques, followed by hands-on workshops focused on the development of storybooks and corresponding lesson guides. Through collaborative sessions, writers and illustrators worked together to ensure that both textual and visual elements support comprehension and learner engagement.
The DepEd SDO Ligao City expressed optimism that the outputs from the training will further enrich the pool of instructional resources available to KS1 teachers and learners across Ligao City.

Guinobatan, Albay โ In a proactive move to ensure uninterrupted delivery of quality education during class suspensions, the DepEd SDO Ligao City through the Curriculum Implementation Division and Learning Resource Management Section conducted the Division Inventory, Organization and Mapping of Teaching-Learning Resources cum Development of Contextualized Dynamic Learning Program (CDLP) Learning Activity Sheets for Home-based Learning During Suspension of Face-to-Face (F2F) Classes last January 30โ31, 2026. The two-day activity was held at the Charisma Function Hall, Guinobatan, Albay.
The workshop gathered selected teacher-writers, learning resource evaluators, and education program supervisors from across the division. These participants were tasked with consolidating, reviewing, and mapping available teaching-learning resources, as well as developing contextualized Learning Activity Sheets (LAS) suited for home-based learning modalities.
The activity aimed to systematically organize existing print and digital instructional materials, identify resource gaps, and enhance the quality and relevance of learning activity sheets. Through collaborative sessions, participants aligned materials with curriculum standards while ensuring that content remains responsive to the local context and diverse needs of learners.
Working in teams, teacher-writers drafted and enhanced LAS, while learning resource evaluators ensured adherence to quality assurance standards. Education Program Supervisors provided technical guidance and oversight to guarantee that outputs meet both curricular and developmental benchmarks.
In her message, Schools Division Superintendent Nympha D. Guemo underscored the importance of preparedness and innovation in education delivery. โEducation does not stop in times of uncertainty. Through our collective efforts in inventorying, organizing, and contextualizing our learning resources, we ensure that every learner continues to receive quality educationโeven beyond the four walls of the classroom. This initiative reflects our commitment to resilience, innovation, and inclusive learning for all,โ SDS Guemo emphasized.She further highlighted the crucial role of teacher-writers and evaluators in maintaining high-quality instructional materials that are adaptable during emergencies and other situations requiring suspension of face-to-face classes.
The outputs from the two-day workshop will serve as standardized and quality-assured learning materials for schools throughout the division to be used during the suspension of face-to-face classes.
The activity concluded with a shared commitment among participants to continuously update, refine, and expand the divisionโs repository of teaching-learning resourcesโensuring that learning remains accessible, relevant, and uninterrupted for all learners.
