Hiring for As-Needed Zoning Official/Code Enforcement Officer

AS-NEEDED ZONING/CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER – DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP

Deerfield Township, Cumberland County, has an immediate opening for an as-needed Zoning Official /Code Enforcement Officer. Zoning duties are permit review, enforcement, inspections, zoning administration, and answering public questions. Code enforcement duties are enforcement of property maintenance code, inspections, administration, and answering public questions. Court summons and court appearances will be required. Other duties as assigned. Preferred candidates will have an active Zoning Official certification from Rutgers or NJ Professional Planner’s license. Hours/days are as-needed/flexible but employee must be able to contact applicant/resident and/or perform most job duties within 2 business days. Salary is $35-$42/per hour DOQ and experience. (Builders Utilization Initiative for Labor Diversity)

The goal of this program is to provide outreach, pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship training in the construction trades industry for women and minorities, and place program graduates into registered apprenticeships or construction jobs.

Program participants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Be a woman and/or a member of a minority group;

Reside in New Jersey;

Be at least 18 years of age at the time of program completion;

Possess a high school diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma;

Be drug-free throughout the training and placement.

Must be registered with a One Stop Career Center and if eligible be WIOA co-enrolled and offered appropriate services such as interviewing skills, resume writing, career exploration, etc.
