Noise Complaints

Part of the County Environmental Health Act agreement that Cumberland County Health Department has with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is to provide community noise enforcement when commercial or industrial noise affects neighboring homes or businesses. The Cumberland County Health Department’s environmental staff is routinely certified by Rutgers University through their Community Noise Enforcement program. The Health Department maintains two noise meters that are calibrated annual by a certified laboratory. The environmental staff can respond to noise complaints at any hour of the day or night.

Please contact Cumberland County Dispatch at (856) 455-8526 for any noise complaints regarding commercial or industrial properties ONLY

Any noise complaints from residential properties should be directed to the State Police. Township Code section 131 regulates noise.

Residents can file their own noise complaints in municipal court.

Deerfield Township Code Enforcement Officers do not enforce noise complaints as these complaints are law enforcement matters.
