Because this method is not simply plain hunt above or below the treble, it does no lend itself to ringing by a simple set of rules. Howeve, you shouolkd still learn where you pass the treble, as this will help to keep you right.
You might also have learned some of it as part of other methods, e.g.:
The work above the treble is the same as:
Single/Double Oxford.
Single/Double Court, but with 2nds place when the treble leads instead of 6ths place.
The work below the treble is the same as:
Double Court.
Double Oxford, but with 1st place when the treble lies instead of 5ths place.
St Clements, but with 1st place when the treble lies instead of 3rds place.
There are a few other things that can help:
Always dodge both ways on the front, unless the treble is there, in which case make 2nds over it and lead again.
Always triple-dodge on the back. Remember that you cannot dodge with the treble, so:
If you turn the treble from the back, make 6ths then triple dodge 5-6 down.
If you do not turn the treble from the back, triple dodge 5-6 up then make 6ths.
Instead of counting the three dodges, you can just dodge until the treble comes up to the back again.
Note where a "dodge follows dodge, place follows place" rule can be used:
The 5-6 down and 3-4 down dodges are followed by a 1-2 down dodge.
A 1-2 up dodge is follwed by a 3-4 up dodge (if you pass the treble in 2-3 up) or 5-6 up dodges (if you pass the treble in 4-5 up).
After leaving the back without a dodge then the next work is making 3rds at the start of the 3-4 down places.
After making 3rds at the end of the 3-4 up places, the next work is making 6ths.
The bells dodging in 5-6 when the call is made are unaffected.
Otherwise, briefly ring plain hunt in the from four places:
The bell that was about to make 2nds runs out, becoming 3rds place bell, which makes 4ths and carries on with the 3-4 up places.
The bell that is making 4ths and was about to dodge 3-4 down runs in to become 2nds place bell.
The bell that was about to dodge 3-4 up makes 4ths (making the bob), becoming 4ths place bell which goes down to dodge in 1-2.
The bell that was about to make 2nds is unaffected.
The bell that was about to dodge 3-4 up does the same as at a bob.
The bell that is making 4ths and was about to dodge 3-4 down make 3rds (making the single) becoming 3rds place bell, which makes 4ths and carries on with the 3-4 up places.
