Procedures for ringing during the
Coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic

Version 8 26/01/2022

Rules

Do not attend ringing while required to quarantine or isolate by the current government guidance, or if experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19.

Let the tower captain know if you test positive for Covid-19 within five days of ringing at St Peter's, so that others who were in the tower at the same time can be advised.

If more than one person is in the ringing room:

  • Both lower windows must be open.

  • The upper window must be open, or the air extractor fitted and switched on.

Good Practice

Get fully vaccinated against Covid-19

Take a lateral flow test during the 24 hours before attending a session.

Maintain sensible spacing where possible, especially when climbing the stairs where people may be breathing more heavily than usual.

Do not raise your voice more than necessary while in the ringing room.

Hand sanitiser and face coverings are available in the ringing room if required.
