How did Danganronpa: Komalator come to be?
How did Danganronpa: Komalator come to be?
Danganronpa: Komalator started with the thought, “What if I were in Danganronpa?” I then started to brainstorm and put my friends into a situation of Danganronpa, and thought “who would survive… and who would die…?” This is where the story started up. I went over to my latest mod at the time, Komalator, and pulled some characters from the mod to use in this killing game. There were a lot of characters from my mod that stood out, but I only needed 16. However, before I started choosing them, I thought to myself, “what if there were 2 traitors accompanying the 16 students?” In order to do this without making 2 of the 16 students traitors, I added 2 more characters to the list. This is why DR:K’s student count comes to 18 in total, unlike all the other Danganronpa games having only 16. I decided to use Junko Enoshima in place of Monokuma, since her hair was already accessible in Yandere Simulator at the time. Due to limitations that the engine I use has, Junko's character is not extremely accurate, but isn't meant to be anyways. A second season was made after the popularity that DR:K had reached, resulting in more high quality videos and story in DR:K2.
