After the game, Ryan moved pretty far away. He went back to school, graduated, fell in love, and then just lived his life with his wife. He eventually got really into the idea of opening a shop where the kids could come around and read books all they like, so pretty much a library since no purchase was required. He kept in contact with his classmates, they even went to visit him one time, which was quite literally one of the only times they were all together after the game. Ryan reflected on the way he treated his classmates, and he regrets it deeply. He likes to spend time with his wife with a good book for the both of them to read.

Ryan's original fate was being put into the killing game and being the first killer. His role was swapped to being a member of the U10, and surviving. He originally got exposed by Art in the first trial the same way he'd end up exposing Art in Trial 2 of DR:K2. Ryan is 3 of 4 U10 Survivors.
