Crystal grew up always watching magic trick videos on video streaming platforms, and always wanted to learn how to do tricks. One day, she actually put herself up to the test, and actually did her first trick, which consisted of making a shovel disappear into thin air, and reappearing on the other side of the room. She was confused on how she did this, but she was glad it happened. After that day, she learned more and more on the way to becoming the Ultimate Illusionist.

Crystal was made for the Danganronpa: Komalator mod to fill the school a little bit more. After putting her into the game, she was chosen to become the second mastermind of Danganronpa: Komalator. She was given the "Husk" hair, mixed with Kizana's drills, which made her one of the most unique characters in the mod at the time. Originally, her stocking color was going to be red, and she went through many hair colors before her final color was chosen. As of season 1, she is the only character with a unique text shadow. She was chosen to be the second mastermind far after the series had started. (She was chosen roughly around Episode 6-7)
