Workshop on

Moments of L-functions

Land Acknowledgment

The Prince George campus of the University of Northern British Columbia is situated on the unceded traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, part of the Dakelh (Carrier) peoples’ territory. UNBC publicly states on its website:

“Since time immemorial, Indigenous peoples have walked gently on the diverse traditional territories where the University of Northern British Columbia community is grateful to live, work, learn, and play. We are committed to building and nurturing relationships with Indigenous peoples, we acknowledge their traditional lands, and we thank them for their hospitality.... Without reservation we strongly support the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the findings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and its Calls to Action.”

As visitors to these lands for this workshop, we are also grateful to learn on Lheidli T’enneh First Nation lands. We too support the rights of Indigenous peoples, and we encourage all participants to read and reflect upon the 94 actions we are called to take to support and respect their cultures and their wellbeing. We also encourage online participants to learn about the Indigenous peoples whose lands they are on.
