Lloyd Einstadt
Information
Name:
Lloyd Einstadt
Title:
The Tinkerer, Kupo (by Phatomsong), Fuckface (by Mia)
Age:
18
Race:
Human
Sex:
Male
Personality:
Lloyd is friendly and loyal, and he puts a lot of value into friendship. He's willing to follow a good friend to the end of the earth. He is enamored by curiosity and always looks towards the why rather than the what. What comes with this are endless questions as he inquires about the nature of everything. As a down point, Lloyd is both proud of everything he does and doesn't fare well with criticism. Additionally, he is easily frustrated and somewhat selfish to anyone other than his good friends. In battle, he fights with raw emotion, unlike some people who keep themselves in check. Towards Phatomsong and Mia, his patience is short and he gets easily angry at their constant bickering. He is easily convinced with good food and drink, and he eats like a slob.
Backstory:
Lloyd was born in an incredibly "normal" life, with two loving parents and an older sister. It was in a village a few miles away from the capital of the Diamond Kingdom. His father was the town's blacksmith, his mother an alchemist. Lloyd's magic originates from his mother's experimentation, which allowed him to create the strange explosive crystals as well as altered his body severely. Village life was honestly very dull, and it usually only consisted of daily chores, such as manning the blacksmith shop and cooking. As such, Lloyd filled his spare time with experimentation. This would range from using his orbs to necromancy. He wasn't too experienced with necromancy, and he gave up on his hobby when he was a little over 10. It was a sort of evil hobby that he never understood until he was in his early teens. It was in his early teens that he finally figured out how to effectively use his orbs to make a gun.
Meanwhile, his father had become ill. Without proper medicine, he succumbed to his illness. It was in his will that Lloyd received two shortswords. Their magic was unknown to Lloyd, and their origins much more so. The swords did give Lloyd some insight though (not without making him feel like he went insane beforehand though... talking swords aren't really "normal") and explained that Lloyd's ancestors had created the two of them against their will, and the family heritage had coincidentally brought the two swords together to Lloyd.
This sparked several questions for Lloyd. Who was his father, really, and who were the two swords, that remained enigmatic to him? And how much of a mage is he really? So feeling lost, Lloyd set off on his journey to find his truth.
Role during the timeskip: Fought in the Diamond's army, but without unsheathing either Phantomsong nor Mia
Rank: 5
Subrank: 300/250
Affiliation: Diamonds
Abilities:
The Orb: Lloyd can create a multi-faceted red orb crystal with his mind. This orb can be of any size, though larger orbs will take exponentially longer to create and are generally more inefficent. This orb explodes when a significant enough change of force is suddenly applied on it. This explosion doesn't destroy the orb however. A force larger than the one that could be applied to a size two times larger will destroy the orb. There are several applications that these orbs can be used in:
Super Small Orbs: These orbs explode easily when any pressure is applied on it, but the explosion is also more or less harmless, so a handful of these orbs are excellent to cause a distraction when thrown
Small Orbs: These orbs are the size of a marble. They carry an insignificant amount of explosive potential, but they still have a low requirement of force. There really isn't any use for these other than to torture someone by pelting them at someone, or to jam Argossian tech when stuffed into an outlet. For example, they might be stuffed in some bit of technology made specifically for emergencies. When this bit of technology is activated, it automatically explodes because of the electricity running through it
Medium Orbs: These orbs are around the size of a river stone. They carry enough explosive potential to be used in Lloyd's flintlocks, and the hammer motion of the flintlock is enough to set off the explosion. These might injure someone when the explosion is unfocused (outside of a flintlock)
Large orbs: These orbs are around the size of a very large snowball. These orbs are somewhat inefficient, as it requires the force of a sledgehammer to trigger, and if you use a sledgehammer, more likely than not you'll be hit with the pretty powerful force of the orb. At most, it'll kill one person. Lloyd can't effectively utilize this in combat without his sword's electricity powers, and they take on average a minute to create.
Gear
Einstadt Flintlock (5): Lloyd carries five of his specially made "flintlocks" which differ from normal Kingdom flintlocks in several ways:
The Orb: Lloyd's flintlocks don't use flint, steel, or gunpowder to fire (which kinda defeats the purpose of calling them flintlocks) and instead uses Lloyd's red orbs as a firing mechanism. The trigger sends the flintlock hammer to strike the red orb, which then explodes to propel the bullet towards the target. This has the advantage of giving the bullet a higher velocity as well as a faster reload time, as the gunpowder doesn't need to be replaced.
Triple Barrelled: There are three barrels for each flintlock, allowing each flintlock to fire three times before needing to be reloaded. The stupid downside to this is that there are three triggers on each flintlock.
Long Barrel: Lloyd's flintlocks look almost comically long in shape, allowing for better accuracy.
Soulstealer Sword (2): Two talking shortswords that Lloyd inherited from his father. In each resides a trapped soul of a former mage, the rank, age, and allegiance of which is unknown. He doesn't usually use them unless needed. Additionally, they rarely speak in public, as not to attract attention to themselves, and therefore keep Lloyd as his current rank. Their magic
Phatomsong: The first sword is named Phantomsong, who is frisky, cheerful, and has a weird thing of referring to the wielder as "kupo." His magic consists of electricity, which can be internalized in the sword for shocking blows, or as a strands of projectile electricity. He refuses to diluge most of his power, as he believes it would overload Lloyd. But that's a lie. He is revealed to be Rohan Gold, the former Ace of Diamonds felled by William
Wuzzah Wazzam!: Phantomsong's usual magic is an overpowering control of electricity, allowing Phantomsong to project strands, armor, or balls of electricity. While in the form of his sword, Phantomsong can make his sword body glow with electricity as a part of the armor electricity
Like a Spider Dangling From a Strand: Phantomsong can use his electricity magic to control people. For example, he can mind control people with a strand of electricity (this won't be elaborated, but just know that William wouldn't react with more than a jerk of an arm movement), but it can also be used to control Mia or any person in the dysidia sword.
Sixth Sense (Or Is It a Third Sense??): Phantomsong has incredibly strong spacial awareness, such as the ability to sense mana and their types (but not their specific signatures), and when there is a sense of danger. This ability is not transferred to the wielder of his sword, and instead only Phantomsong can wield it. He calls it his Third Sense because it is only obvious that he has sight and hearing.
Fuck You Mia, I Can Name My Abilities Perfectly Well: Phantomsong can use his electricity to assist the brain, allowing a higher level of thought. This can only be given when Phantomsong is mind controlling people.
Mia: The second sword is named Mia, and she is down-to-earth, cup-half-empty, and diabolical, although she has the same amount of loyalty to Lloyd as Phantomsong. Her magic consists of Dysidia magic, which when connected to a living being, mixes with the body and corrupts their mind, magic and body, severely debuffing their ability to use magic, move and think. A full corruption of all three turns one into a corrupt being that wields pure dysidia magic and is consumed by wrath. Externalized, it forms black vapor, which simply gives off an uneasy vibe. Like Phatomsong, Mia refuses to divulge her true power to Lloyd, though unlike Phantomsong, she refuses to give a reason. She is revealed to be the first Queen of Spades, named Amelia Chevrolet.
Mind Corruption: Creates insanity
Body Corruption: Turns the victim into a disgusting flesh monster.
Soul Corruption: "mutate their magic and turn em into an evil dysidia monster mage" (Kloud)
Using a combination of the three magicks, Mia is able to raise the dead as zombies. These zombies are generally without any mind function, however, they will act under Mia's wishes.
The Orb: Before combat, Lloyd always creates a small bag full of very small small orbs (packed together so that it doesn't blow up), a pocket of small orbs, another pocket of medium orbs, and one large orb that is attached to his belt
Relationships
Calum Wynhorne: "I don't envy the cabbage-boy in the slightest. He tried his hardest to get a spot to protect the kingdom... then he lost it even after all the hard work he put in. Though he's a really good person, I respect him for that. Perhaps we could be friends and go on this journey together
Cecilia Ivy Noreihl: "She's my childhood friend. People describe her as a sly, untrustworthy girl, but words can only mean so much. She is definitely that type of person. She is my best friend; someone who I would lay my life down for. Hell, if she needs blood, she's got a bloodbag available right here."
Phatomsong: "Phatomsong is honestly a very uplifting and bright person... sword to be around. He is somewhat enigmatic, but I doubt he's a bad person-- sword. Whatever his reasons for keeping his past from me, I'm more or less sure I can stomach when the time comes"
Mia: "Mia is like Phatomsong's antithesis. Honestly, I don't care too much for her-- she's pessimistic and rude. Though I suppose I do appreciate how she can rein in both me and Phatomsong when he has too much control over me."
