Support for Bioscience student interns placed in local bioscience laboratories. Provide tools to effectively communicate and navigate the internship experience, present scientific concepts and network with professionals in the field. Types of internships may include, but are not limited to basic research, biomanufacturing, environmental sciences, quality control or assurance technicians.
Interview with multiple potential internship mentors to identify an internship that is a good fit for you
Build and gain community and support with a cohort of other students doing Bioscience Internships.
Develop your understanding of your internship work while building communication and presentation skills by creating and presenting an internship research poster.
Develop strategies to manage-up: how to navigate the lab workplace, obtain and clarify expectations, and obtain and systematically respond to actionable feedback.
Meet regularly with BTEC 15 students to practice sharing and discussing your internship work
Network with CCSF alumni currently working in biotech and industry professionals through Speed Networking Events
Professional development workshops with guest presenters from industry and academia topics may include: Resume Building, Interviewing, Building a LinkedIn Profile, and a Biotech Industry Overview
Complete a mock interview with industry professionals to gain feedback and experience interviewing for a biotech/bioscience job.
Further build and develop your LinkedIn page, resume and cover letter for a job in biotech/bioscience.
