EDT 8140 - LMS and Evaluation
This evaluation is to compare the following functions of 2 learning management systems, Canvas and Desire2Learn (D2L). The evaluations are accompanied by walk-throughs of the specific function.
1. Setting-Up Course

4. Creating Content Using an HTML Editor and Images
5. Adding Demo Student and Doing Quality Check
After evaluating the above functions for each LMS, I will make a professional recommendation on the better LMS of the two.
Adding Students:
Pros: Simple process if you know the emails. Can add by "SIS ID" or "Login ID" as well.
Cons: Can't search by name.
Activating the Class:
Pros: Easy to find
Cons: N/A

Cons: Hard to evaluate w/ limited functionality

LMS essentially function the same.

Not as customizable as D2L, but quicker and easier to use
4. Creating Content Using an HTML Editor and Images: D2L
Canvas was harder to navigate
5. Adding Demo Student and Doing Quality Check: Canvas
D2L has a tedious process, whereas Canvas is incredibly easy
