Surgical & Procedural Logbook

All trainees are expected to maintain an up-to-date procedural and surgical logbook throughout BST.

The logbook should reflect progressive experience across the three years of training and should be reviewed as part of the annual assessment process.

Progression should not be determined solely by procedural numbers.

Logbook entries should be interpreted alongside:

• Demonstrated competence

• Procedural safety

• Supervisor feedback

• Clinical judgement

• Overall progression towards independent practice
