Teaching & Training

Structured teaching and participation in departmental educational activities form an important part of the BST Ophthalmology Programme.

Training combines learning through supervised clinical practice with formal and informal educational activities.

Trainees are expected to participate in:

• Departmental teaching

• Journal club

• Clinical teaching activities

• Audit and quality improvement

• Presentations

• Procedural and surgical training

• Supervised clinical practice

All trainees are expected to participate actively in their own learning and progressively contribute to the education of more junior colleagues.
