December Fair as a Junior

December Fair usually marks the first “big” checkpoint in a junior’s STEM I experience, and occurred on December 12th. This fair serves as a way to prepare juniors for the judging during February Fair, where students are judged by alumni and experts in their fields. As the new juniors prepared their pitches and posters, seniors were invited to judge their current projects and progress, and this experience reminded a few of their own December Fair...

SWE NEXT Chapter

The Society of Women Engineers is a national organization dedicated to empowering women and equipping them with the skills and confidence to pursue careers in STEM.

Mass Academy is excited to relaunch its SWE Next chapter this year, led by seniors Isabella Pailt and Riley Harn...

Millbury Thursdays: Teaching LEGO Robotics

Mass Academy students strive not only to contribute to the fields they study but also to grow the  scientific community. That’s why seniors Joseph Yu, Nevin Thinagar, Travis Tran and I — Sumanth Sura — have been teaching robotics at the Millbury Public Library. Each lesson is held from 6:00 PM to 7:45 PM once a month from September to January 2023-24...

2023 MAMS Semiformal

On December 2nd, Mass Academy hosted its annual semi-formal at WPI’s Higgins House. Having chosen a Tangled-inspired theme for the event, the junior student government was charged with elegantly decorating Higgins House to bring the movie to life. Of course with Higgins House as the location, the job was already half-done, with the building’s secluded but cozy nature, wooden pillars, and rustic appeal making itself iconic amongst kids...

Garba Celebrations

Originating from Gujarat, India, the tradition of Garba has remained a pivotal social and religious festival to South Asian communities across the globe. Near the conclusion of A term, WPI’s South Asian Student Association (SASA) hosted WPI’s very own Garba on October 6th, 2023, consisting of music, food, and most importantly, dancing...

Fall Fest

On September 15, a much-needed breeze settled after weeks of uncharacteristically hot weather in Worcester. With fall upon us, Mass Academy students prepared for a night full of autumnal festivities, laughs, and good times. With nostalgic video games, delicious food, and bright music, every student was able to enjoy a break from academics. The festival gave the seniors an opportunity to catch up with one another and the juniors used the event to...

Adjusting to College Life: Seniors at MAMS

The senior class of Mass Academy has officially transitioned from high school classes to college classes and are beginning to settle in. With A-term completed, the Class of 2024 has found its groove within the...

Mass Academy Students Land Perfect Scores at the first Math Meet of the Season

On October 11th, the Mass Academy Math Team headed to Shrewsbury High School for their first math competition of the year. Alex Kaneko, Rianna Santra, and Jenny Shaughnessy, three seniors who scored perfectly at the first Worcester County Mathematics...

Mass Academy Robotics Team Competes in Off-Season Competitions

To prepare for the upcoming season, Mass Academy’s FIRST Robotics Competition Team Gompei and the HERD attended two off season events — N.E.R.D. in Tewksbury, MA and River Rage in Manchester, NH...

Opinion: Best Study Spots at WPI

Mass Academy students spend a lot of time on the WPI campus, whether that be the seniors during the school day or the juniors after school. Here are my top study spots on the WPI campus.

Alert! Mass Academy Update: Introducing AI Club

With only about 100 students, clubs at Mass Academy might be small, but that doesn’t mean that the members are any less passionate. Earlier this year, Joseph Yu and Charles Tang, two Mass Academy seniors, started AI...

Mass Academy Junior-Senior Buddy Program

For the 2023 - 2024 academic year, the Senior Student Government decided to implement and pilot a Junior- Senior Buddy Program, to help the new juniors acclimate to the Mass Academy environment in the beginning of the year, and to create a union between two historically distant groups at Mass Academy.
