u palindromed me, i think | i think u palindromed me
like calling paraphrased
a quote flipped on its head
half read but resaid
but if u are me & i am u
does that mean if u change, then i do too?
cuz that sounds like man-ip-u-la-tion
so should i shun the man that is u?
i think u liked me, or more so were like me
i may have loved u
but it was just a reflection
of what i wanted to see
u palindromed me,
a pal who droned on
but i could tolerate it
does that mean maybe it was love?
i feel the pressure to melt into
your artificial standards of me
my only goal: be the girl
u thought i was,
even if far from reality
but i failed
& u rejected me like a factory
dismisses anything besides perfection
maybe i am perfect | perfectly, i am me
u palindrome me | i palindromed u
all so u could call me yours
i was the horse to your cowboy
u: the puppeteer | myself: a mere toy
a plaything to play with ‘till you’re out the door
leaving me as a reflection
without an apple of my eye
physics says that cannot exist
does that mean neither do i?
