The Arboreal Boogie

The Arboreal Boogie is located in Storybook Gardens, and it is a trackless dancing flat ride ala Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters based off the classic short film: The Flowers and the Trees.

Queue

The queue for this attraction will see guests passing under marble columns supporting an archway also made of marble that displays the name of the attraction in yellow lettering mimicking the original poster for The Flowers and the Trees. The marble columns and archway have ivy have growing up and around them making them seem to have been reclaimed by nature. Circling around the structure of the attraction are short hedges acting as substitutes for guide rails, and helps to tie this attraction to the nearby Silly Symphonies Labyrinth. In various points of the queue trees are strategically placed to provide shade for guests in line. Hanging from the trees are various 'vines' that hold up flowers that light up at night, and even the occasional overheard and oversized dandelion seeds that act as fans to cool down guests waiting in the queue.

The structure covering the flat ride is similar in concept to the entrance gate for the attraction. Pillars of marble stand tall with ivy growing all over them, and on top these tall marble pillars is a concrete dome that is covered in sod. Similar to what is seen in Scandinavian sod roofs, a vibrant and colorful flower garden grows on the sod roof above the attraction.

Ride Experience

Walking from the queue into the ride floor guests can go to their ride vehicles. These ride vehicles are tree stumps that have have their covered in moss with with mushrooms, flowers, and other small colorful plants growing from their shells giving each vehicle a magical and whimsical look while tying into the nature aspect of the short. Above guests is a concrete dome which has been covered in overgrowth and vines racing around the ceiling of the structure. From these vines flowers hang down and illuminate the ride in a variety of lights similar to what is done throughout the queue at night. In the center of the ride floor is male protagonist tree and his love interest. Both trees are animatronics that sway around to the music that plays in the ride with their branches around them. Going around the two trees are a circle of spinning flowers all smiling at the guests adding to the kinetic energy in the center of the attraction.

When the ride starts the tree stump vehicles will dance to a variety of randomized tunes. One of these tunes is a remix of the music heard in the short film, other tunes are pulled from pieces of classical music that tie into nature such as the "Waltz of the Flowers" from The Nutcracker. Each song will give the ride vehicles different movements; sometimes the ride may utilize more quick spins and other times it may go back and forth and take a slower spin around the entire attraction floor. This tactic guarantees a fun time for guests, and encourages guests to reride the attraction to find their favorite dance pattern and tune!
