Sorcerer's Spin

(Spinning teacups)

When a spell that brings some brooms to life gets out of hand, it brings a swirling flood to this sorcerer’s well! Hop into a bucket and spin around this magic mayhem, in a trip that’s inspired by the iconic sequence from Fantasia.

Exterior and Queue

Walking along Fantasy Harbor, guests might notice an interesting pavilion that is set up. At its center is an old and large stone well, as a trio of living brooms (simple animatronics) stand on a stone platform around it with buckets in hand. Larger buckets can be seen all around them, spinning with abandon. Nearby a stone wall is a sign with the attraction’s name, featuring an image of Mickey Mouse as seen in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. This sign marks the entrance for the queue, as guests follow a simple path along the stone walls. The simple path leads to the main waiting area, as guests wait for their turn to ride.

Ride Experience

Once it is time, we enter the ride area and walk along the blue pavilion floor (colored to look like water) and head for one of the large buckets. As we do so, we hear the voice of Yen Sid (the master sorcerer from The Sorcerer's Apprentice segment) warning us about proper safety when riding the buckets. Once we are all seated, the ride starts up. We spin around in our buckets, using a steering wheel in the center of the buckets to give some control over how fast or slow we spin. As we do so, the instrumental piece The Sorcerer’s Apprentice fills the air. It all adds up to an experience that recalls the iconic segment from Fantasia.

Eventually, our ride comes to an end. The spinning buckets slow down and come to a stop, as the voice of Yen Sid tells us to head for the exits while he uses his magic to clean up this mess. With that, we exit our buckets and head for the pavilion’s exit.
