The Caucus Race

(Music Express)

Join the Caucus Race and stay dry in this fast-spinning attraction.

At the edge of Storybook Gardens, right where the lush gardens meet the beaches of Fantasy Harbor, sits a curious outcropping of purple, porous rock. Even curiouser, atop the tallest of these rocks, which stands between four rocks encircling it, is a large Dodo Bird, who stands in proper Colonial dress, pipe in hand, next to a roaring campfire. A trio of small waterfalls pour out of the Dodo's rock into a pool below. Below him is an endless train of cars which quickly bounce and circuit around him. Observant guests will notice a large wooden sign, precariously nailed into one of the rock structures, cut in such a way that it looks like it's pointing towards a large opening between the rocks. The sign reads:

"Caucus Race"

Queue and Ride System

Entering between the rock structures, guests will find themselves in a simple set of switchbacks which snake around the front of the attraction proper. The entire queue is covered by large rock overhangs, extensions of the rock structures that border the attraction, which hang entirely over the queue before stopping at the attraction's loading platform.

The attraction is a pretty standard Music Express. Each car is themed to various nautical creatures (such as starfish, fish, , lobsters, pelicans, etc.) and seats up to three guests.

Ride Experience

As guests board, The Dodo can be heard absentmindedly singing "The Sailors Hornpipe" to himself as he repacks his pipe.

Once guests are settled in to their cars, The Dodo addresses the crowd.

"Ahoy! Avast! Other nautical expressions. Welcome aboard to our Jolly Caucus Race. Please keep your arms and legs inside your vehicle at all times, and do make sure to stay dry. Now, pull away, me hearties. Make sail!"

With that, vehicles begin to make their way around the circuit as "The Caucus Race Song" is played. Four water cannons situated above the rock overhang blast water over unlucky guests at random intervals. As the ride continues, The Dodo will sometimes taunt guests:

"Come, now. You'll never get dry that way. You'll have to run with the others."

"That's it! You'll be dry in no time."

Eventually, the vehicles will begin to slow, eventually coming to a stop. The Dodo again can be heard.

"That's it! Perfectly dry. Now, make way to disembark. Do come back."

Guests disembark and exit back into Fantasyland, probably wetter than they were before.
