Mentorship Program

The Mentorship Program seeks to strengthen the connections among BirdsCaribbean members and support knowledge exchange between mentees and more experienced members. Through this effort we want to support new members of our organization and ultimately promote that more people engage in the study and conservation of Caribbean birds and habitats.

While mentors get to know new professionals in their fields and further develop leadership skills, mentees gain career advice and tips to address perceived challenges.

We highly encourage conference participants to join the Mentorship Program (either as a mentor or mentee) by indicating your interest when you register for the conference, and by filling out this short form. 

Mentor-mentee pairs will be matched according to the following fields of interest:

1. Conservation and natural resource management

2. Research and bird monitoring

3. Outreach, education, and communications

4. Bird tourism
