Assist. Prof. Dr. Sonia Harizanova was educated at one of the best chemical universities in Bulgaria, namely UCTM - Sofia, and did her master's thesis at a renowned university in Aveiro, Portugal, as an Erasmus student for five months. There she developed her potential as a good researcher. Learns various scientific techniques and acquires new knowledge. After that, she became a doctoral student at the Center for Competence (MISSION), funded by the European Commission, Sixth Framework Program. The center was established at IGIC-BAS. She successfully presented his dissertation work to the MISSION Center and defended it before the higher attestation committee at the IGIC-BAS. She specializes in excellent institutions, such as Technical University Darmstadt (Germany), Institute of Materials Jean Rouxel, city of Nantes, (France) and Imperial College London (UK), which is one of the top ten in the world. On 15.05.2018, she was issued a patent with number 66676 on the topic "Thermoelectric Oxide Material", Sofia, Bulgaria. She won the Best Poster at the International Collaboration Conference SizeMat 3 in 2021. Dr. Harizanova is a successful student internship mentor who teaches students in detail about working in a chemical laboratory and with scientific software, passing on her experience and knowledge. Today, she is a specialist in the synthesis and characterization of thermoelectric oxide materials. In the last year, the activity of Dr. Harizanova was also directed to the study of sodium intercalation in expanded graphenes, provided by the company Graphit Kropfmühl GmbH (Germany).
