Rositsa Kukeva,
Researcher
Rositsa Kukeva graduated with a master's degree in Chemistry, majoring in "Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry" at SU "St. Kliment Ohridski". She was a chemist-senior expert at the Executive Agency for Environment and Water (EAEW) and the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA). In November 2014, she started working at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry - BAS as a chemist specializing in EPR analyses. Her research interests are in the field of EPR spectrometry; analysis of samples of inorganic and organic origin in solid and liquid states in order to identify paramagnetic centers, establish the symmetry of the ions surrounding them and their distribution in the diamagnetic matrix; quantitative evaluation of paramagnetic centers, including radicals, in solid phase matrices. The objects she analyzes include silicates, oxides, organometallic compounds, electrode materials for Na-, Li-ion batteries, and organic matrices - leather, paper, wood, etc. Rositsa Kukeva participates in a number of projects at the Bulgarian National Science Fund and operational programs. She is a co-author of more than 30 scientific publications, which have more than 170 noticed citations. She is a mentor in EPR spectrometry in the specialized course at the BAS "Spectroscopic methods for the analysis of the surface and volume of materials".
