Below are the Outlands-wide ROE rules for all guilds participating in roleplay. Again, you do not have to roleplay to be in BEAR, but if you wish to, please abide by the following rules when interacting with other RP guild / RPers.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
No Guild Espionage. Please be respectful of private information you have access to and do not use your knowledge to exploit a guild’s advantages over one another in game or in discord.
No Res Killing. In fact, res your enemies if you can when the fight is over. If you can’t res, state that you can’t res them.
Looting Rules: (RPvP Events are exempt from this as they usually have their own rulesets. Use this looting rule as a guide for random encounters with other RP guilds)…
A) Use Your Best Judgment
But try not to loot enemies.
B) Returning Items is Appreciated
But not always practical. It’s just pixels afterall.
C) Likely to Lose Items Occasionally
It is hard to get back to your corpse so others may loot it and it’s near impossible to know who did loot you. Understand this and forgive those who may loot on accident or for their own reasons using their best judgement.
D) Orange Corpses Aren’t Free Loot
Please be respectful and don’t exploit an opportunity to loot an orange corpse just because you won’t flag.
Use your best judgement when to give a count for being murdered. Use courtesy when considering to give one or not (for instance, at large RPvP events it is courteous to not give a count but being murdered outside of your house may be a just reason to).
Work together if outside interference occurs. If a pk zerg shows up in the middle of an RP skirmish uninvited, work together to neutralize the outer threat before resuming the skirmish. We should stick together in this very populated and cutthroat world in these instances.
(Highly Recommended/Encouraged) Dialogue Before Combat… this just ensures that the opposing guild is aware that you wish to fight and allows them a chance to flee/talk/pay their way out of it if they do not wish to engage in combat. This also invites non RPers to try RP out with you.
RP guilds are expected to refrain from ganking one another, especially when they highly outnumber their enemy or are PKing/anti-PKing with allied non-RP guilds. This can be a very grey area so it is best to just avoid attacking fellow RPers in large/zerg groups (RP or non-RP) and avoid calling for help from non-RP guilds during random RPvP encounters in the wilderness at all costs.
Respect RP Events. Some events are open invitation and some are not. If you happen to learn of or stumble upon a private RP event in progress, please be respectful and do not interrupt it without an invitation to do so. Time and effort goes into setting these up. Instead, wait for the event to finish before approaching, interacting or engaging the event.
No Powerplaying. This means do not emote or act for another character, such as, Sir punches Yog and knocks him unconscious where I might swing at Yog but it is up to Yog to decide if he is knocked out or not. Control only your own character.
Note – Rules 6 & 7 do NOT apply in Dungeons and on Saturdays.
