Always try to drill outwards
In this case, because the angle is going to be quite acute to the wall, a starter hole is being prepared with a small drill first. (so he doesn't slide into the window with that big drill) Tape the instructions sheet to the wall to catch the debris.
When you get through the wall, you can push the white duct through. (maybe in a larger sleeve)
Then prepare the grey backplate.
The ties must be fitted before the plate is fitted.
Mark for the fitting screws with the white duct in the correct position
Watch out for the top holes they will be close to the white duct
Put mastic round the white duct hole
Screw the plate to the wall
The householder stops here and just puts the cover temporarily on.
B4RN or a 'trained' volunteer finish it off when the fibre is blown through. They attach the gas block between the white duct, and the black duct coming upwards, with the fibre inside. Before they put the cover on, the white ties are tightened and the gas block is tightened.
The underground section will have already been completed some time ago.
Fit the connector so that you can see both duct ends inside the transparent section. Fit the cover. Bury it in the final position, but only loosely backfill it. It can be finished after fibre has arrived.
Mark out for the 3 screw positions. Drill the holes. (careful with the top one in this case, it will be close to the white duct)
Use the instruction sheet by taping it under the FTU to catch the dust from the drill. That is about all it is useful for.
Screw the backplate to the wall.
Tuck the white end into position with some spare duct. This will be cut to size just before the fibre arrives
Nicely unobtrusive fitting.
Good job.
