What is important for an applicant to have?
a full driver's license
a clean profile on social media (this includes pages you are liking, behavior online and staying socially and sexually healthy
Volunteer work
Second and third languages
Qualities needed:
being honest and open about your interaction with the police (any criminal or driving offences)
fitness - you need to be at your best when you apply and you need to maintain it until police college
Am I too young?
Most people are 24/25 years old when they apply. There are, however, some exceptional 18/19 year olds. To qualify you need to:
have had lots of responsibility
demonstrate the Competencies (see below)
have the right attitude
In 2021 5% of the constabulary are under 25.
You can also enter the police as a civilian and then apply to be a constable later.
