Part 1: Create a working presentation template. This presentation template will be used for the entire project. You will be able to make adjustments throughout the project.
Step One: Follow the simple template provided to make sure that you create all of the necessary base pages for your final presentation. You will be adding additional pages as you complete your research, concepts and final presentation.
Step Two: Remember, this is a base working template and you will be making changes and adjustments as you work on this project. This template is only a starter not a final.
Part 2: Personal Logo Sketches:
Step One: Using your initials start sketching up ideas for a personal logo. You must use your initials, 2 (two) or more letters must be present in the main part of the logo.
Step Two: create a minimum of fifteen (15 logo sketches). Five (5) sketches should use a Sans Serif Font. Five (5) sketches should use a Serif Font. Five (5) sketches should use a Script Font or a combination.
Notes: Think about sizes, overlapping, twisting, turning, creating letters within letters, you can do anything you want. Google search Typography (Your letter) to see different ways to write a letter.
Step Three: Use a cell phone, digital camera or scanner to get your drawings into the computer and into your presentation from part 1. We will use Gravit to clean them up. Or most programs allow you to adjust contrast and other things within the image. Also learn how to use the cropping tool so all of your images look great.
Part 3: Refine the Sketches & then make 1 final comprehensive design
Step One: Pick 3 to recreate digitally (refining stage)
Step Two: Pick 1 of the 3 to be the final (or comprehensive design) and get as close to perfection as possible

objective: We will typeset poems or lyrics, designing a visual hierarchy
and pairing different fonts until you come up with a scheme that you
are happy with. The entire class will contribute to the creation of a
book of favorite poems.
step 1: Research poems or lyrics until you find five that hold special meaning to you.
step 2: Sketch out on paper how you will lay out the poems, striving to lead the viewer's eye with a well composed hierarchy, and using fonts that increase the meaning of the poem. Try different pairings
