Final Project

Promotional Poster Design

For this final project you will be creating a poster for an upcoming concert of your choosing at the Pabst Theater, Riverside or Turner Hall Ballroom at pabsttheater.org.

PART 1: Band/Act Written & Visual research

PART 2: 5 thumbnail sketches

PART 3: Rough Drafts

PART 4: Final Product

Put all these in a google slides document, download as a PDF and turn that in. Turn in your final product file as a AI a JPG.

Your finished project should include… 

Clear identification of the band/act along with date/time and ticket purchase information

Use of an imported texture or some non-vector image asset that is EMBEDDED into the poster file.

Import and use of custom fonts

Cohesive/Consistent use of color model, saved as swatches in illustrator file

 

Grading

You will be graded on completeness of the project and accuracy. You will submit both an .ai file as well as a web optimized .jpg. The google slides with all your work documented should be submitted as a PDF.

 

1. ________   File is set up at 11 inches x 17 inches with print intent / save fonts as outlines use of at least one custom font from dafont.com outlined (.ttf or .otf file included with finished project )

 

2. ________   Document “reads” clearly as a poster and includes any relevant information for event  (Date / Time / Venue Name and/or address / Website / Phone Number etc.)

 

3. ________   Execution – File is created with a clean and finished look that adheres to proper
                      use of hierarchy, balance and color theory/use of color models
