Battle for the Ironclad Depot, Season 3 (Fire Round) began as most do: with a race to the center, but it soon took an ugly turn. We were expecting probably a free-for-all fight or a farming exercise and had low expectations for our placing in the season (we were not expecting to win by any stretch of the imagination.)  What we got instead, was former friends Doomsday Knights agreeing to work with Exodus and International Eagle in an alliance, creating a 3 against 1 situation.
We expect this kind of foul play from Exodus and especially from International Eagle (fowl play? lol,) because whenever we have met those guilds before, they go to any lengths in order to gain an advantage: frequent deleting of camps on their own sectors if they are about to lose them, diming of camps as soon as they take sectors even if there's no where to go next, and building outposts/large camps well over 80% necessary boost -- all in order to win. They do have active fighters, but they essentially pay to win.
What we didn't expect is long-time friends (former friends!) in Doomsday Knights to agree to pile on and help those guilds instead of working with us, or doing their own thing. It is one thing not to work with your friends (or anyone) in a free-for-all fight, it's quite another to actively help 2 other guilds pin down Arrowheads, a guild who helped and worked with your guild on many occasions.
This episode brought to mind another one that happened 3 years ago, but I know several players in Doomsday Knights will also remember how they felt when this was done to them in a similar situation. Arrowheads and Doomsday Knights were both allies with Vice Versa in GvG, and then came a Battleground season where VV decided to dump both us to farm with Predators, and they shut out both Arrows and Dooms from participating: we spent most of the season chillin' in our HQs. Â
I remember Iris the Knight, Sarah, and maybe a couple of others who actually spoke up on a shared alliance line that it'll be a long time before they consider VV to be friends again after that betrayal. Well, just cast your memory back, and think about the hypocrisy of taking the "easier" road for a season of farming or whatever it is you think you're doing, at the expense of your honor and friendships that will not recover from this. Knights, Indeed.
I guess Arrowheads should be flattered, that they think it takes 3 guilds working together to keep us down. But we won't be kept down, and now our list of enemies is much longer than it was before. Treachery and betrayals are not soon forgotten, and to be sure, here is the Hall of Shame with the rosters of all 3 guilds who perpetrated this scheme:
