Chateau Frontenac (Progressive)
In the game, there are 3 types of quests:
Story quests (can not be aborted)
Side / bonus quests (these are optional and can be aborted but you won't get them again)
Recurring quests (also called loop quests, can be aborted or completed many times!)
In each era, once you finish the story quests and side quests, you get a choice of several Recurring or "loop" quests. These loop quests can be aborted and they repeat in a loop; do this a few times and you get the same quest again. By cycling through th recurring quests, you can get several quest rewards every day. Doing loop quests is really beneficial, with or without a Chateau Frontenac, it's just this strategy is on steroids if you have the Chateau GB boosting the rewards also.
For example, if I have 4 clock makers and 4 sail makers in Colonial age - I put them all on 24 hour production. When I collect each day, I collect coins until I achieve "collect 100,000 coins" quest and collect that reward - I then abort next quests until I get "produce 2 turret clocks" I collect 2 turret clocks from clock maker and collect that reward, then abort quests until I get Produce full rigging twice, which I then collect from Sail maker - then 2 clocks again - then sails again - then abort until I get the "collect Coins" again. This adds up to 5 quest rewards in one go, and sometimes more.
There is 1 recurring quest called the Unbirthday party to "Pay x amount coin and supplies" from Rinbin, Do Not pay unless you're in the end game and have millions of coins and supplies, otherwise just abort - but be careful not to abort any side quests with a "random" reward - these often give troops, sometimes next era troops if you have opened the tower for next era on the continent map. Only abort the Recurring quests that you don't want to do, to get back to the ones that are profitable.
You have to get through all the normal story quests (which can't be aborted) for your age, and all the side quests (which can be aborted if the rewards aren't worth doing them) and then you are offered loop quests "recurring quests" over and over. If you're not getting recurring quests, you still need to catch up with the other quests for your age. It is possible to have up to 3 loop quests going at the same time, if you have finished all of the other quests for your era. The rewards from each loop quest fulfill and complete the other quests, creating a chain reaction that can result in 10-12 quest rewards just from doing your normal city collection, especially if doing The Spink "collect X supplies" or The Fnord "collect X coins" or R'lyeh "spend x forge points" recurring quests.
To each his own on what loop quests you like to do, collect coins/supplies and spend forge points I think are the easiest, but there is also one for gain happiness that I do sometimes to clear out all the Gates of the Sun God and stuff I win in GE, and one to buy some forge points (how many varies by age) which helps clear out excess coins. The point is, players are missing a lot of rewards if they're not doing loop quests, don't know about loop quests, or never built a Chateau!
The Chateau Frontenac is the most undervalued GB in the game and gets the least respect for what it does; it's a very powerful GB. Having a Chateau early on is a big part of why I have enough goods to cover other's needs as well as my own. Every time there is a quest reward with goods, it's boosted by Chateau, as well as coins supplies medals and diamond rewards (troops and forge point rewards are NOT boosted.)
However if you don't do many quests, the quest reward boost will obviously not be as advantageous for you. But players should be doing quests, not only can you rake in a lot of rewards, it's possible to win diamonds 1 time from each different recurring quest in each age.
In early 2021, Innogames added a 2,000 quest abort limit, per day. The limit was not announced, but was soon discovered by beta testers and sleuths.
I have not personally hit this limit on any given day, but it was hailed as a "nerf" to the Chateau strategy. It is believed that the primary motivation for the limit was to stop players from endlessly looping battles that were added to recurring quests with the release of Space Age Asteroid Belt (SAAB,) but another solution would be not to have fights in recurring quests. Or, here's a crazy idea, shutdown or ban the users clearly using macros to get 5,000 fights per day and insane daily scores, which along with the rest of the imbalance issues (like free attrition with siege camps) have rendered player rankings meaningless for the Space Ages.
