Guild Power and Ranking

Most of this page isn't true after the removal of GvG on March 18, 2024.

And as a level 100 guild, these strategies no longer apply.

Guild Ranking

Our guild's rank in the global guild listing is determined by just 3 things:

As you can see, with most guilds being nearly equal in the prestige gained from guild level and battlegrounds, the entire difference which decides the guild rankings is left to the GvG maps score - maps which are only available on the browser version of the game and which only a handful of players participate in defending.

Because the entire ranking system is setup around GvG and the GvG reset time (also called calc time) any ranking changes based on the outcome of a particular Battlegrounds season, which ends at 8 AM on Mondays, does not get added to the guild's power or ranking until 12 hours later at 8 PM when the GvG reset/calc happens (players of course get their individual Battleground rewards right away.)

Guild Power and Leveling up the Guild

Making sure the Halls of Fame get motivated is one of the best ways to help level up the guild by producing more guild power! I also make plundering an HoF my first order of business if I find a city that has left one unmotivated and uncollected. Motivating the HoF protects it from plundering (another reason to keep ours motivated!)

The Statues of Honor or Great Elephants (won in Battlegrounds) are similar to an HoF and produce guild power, but take more space (SoH 3x4 size versus HoF 3x3) but also produces FPs and goods for the guild treasury. They do not require motivation and can not be plundered. The SoH/Elephant after level 5 is more efficient than Halls of Fame Level 1, for Future Era and below, but less efficient for Arctic Future era and up -- and SoH is less efficient than a Hall of Fame upgraded to Level 2 for Tomorrow era and up.

The only other ways to get guild power, which translates to points that level up the guild, are:

Guild Power - The Top 3 ways to level up the guild.

City collections for guild power has always been the number 1 source of leveling up the guild.  Battlegrounds are number 2, and GE is number 3.  When you want to discuss what has value or not in the game for contributing to the guild, let's do it based on numbers and analysis, not emotion.  What is really important is that...

So let's look at the numbers!

CITY COLLECTIONS (HALL OF FAME, STATUE OF HONOR, ETC)

Obviously this number will vary as people leave and join, or earn more buildings and upgrades from battlegrounds, or rearrange their cities.  But a typical example from using FoE helper to visit all 58 cities in the guild to collect the building data, is that we generate 98K per day  from city collections.  Let's just say over a 2 week period maybe everyone collects 10 times, that's approximately 980K power from cities over the same time period as 1 Battleground (max 546K power) or 2 Expeditions (max 250K power.)

Now let's review the numbers for Battlegrounds and Expeditions.

BATTLEGROUND (GBG) DIAMOND LEAGUE POWER INCOME

The least you can earn is around 400K in diamond league battlegrounds, assuming you place high enough not to get dropped to platinum league.

GUILD EXPEDITION (GE) POWER INCOME

In a typical GE seasons we generate around 100K in guild power.  Assuming 100K guild power, the bonus for 1st would be 25K, 2nd would be 15K and 3rd would be 10K.

These are very small differences in the power earned from GE placing, and more important really than the power income, is that we maintain our record of never having placed below 3rd.

For context let's compare, 2 GE's happen in the time it takes to do 1 Battleground.

Now compare 8th place in a diamond league GBG at 391K power to 2 gold GE finishes at 250K power.  Even a very poor performance in GBG is worth 140K more power than 2 gold trophies in the Expedition.  And all of the guild competition power rewards pale in comparison to building Statues of Honor and other power producing structures in your cities, leveling them up, and collecting every day.

Guild Power, Prestige, Support Pool

Guild Power is produced by Halls of Fame and Statues of Honor or Great Elephants in our cities, and at reset every day (8pm game time) we get Guild Power collected from all our land on the GvG maps. We also earn Guild Power (crowns) in the Guild Expedition every week, plus a bonus to power if we earn a 1st 2nd or 3rd place trophy. The Battlegrounds pays out guild power every 2 weeks too, according to where we place.  Guild power is used to level up the guild (we are level 97 now and working toward level 98 and 12 FPS collected from town hall, plus other benefits.) When you view the Guild screen, inside the Level tab, you can see our progress to the next level in the green bar along the bottom, and you will see we get 5 main benefits for current guild level:

Guild Prestige - this affects our global ranking, at this writing we are ranked 10th globally. This comes from our Prestige, which we get a base amount from our guild level, plus our MMR rank for Battlegrounds, plus the prestige from holding sectors in the various ages on the GvG map. Land in higher ages count for more Prestige.

Guild Support Pool - this affects how much defense bonus we get in our sectors on the GvG map. We get a base support pool based on our guild level, and then we get 10 more support pool per level for every Observatory in the guild, and 3 more support per level for every Deal Castle and Saint Basil's in the guild.

These 3 GB that give support pool are important, especially the Observatory! Edit: in a 1000%-2000% attack boost world we now live in for the game, and with gvg sectors still capped at 75% defense as if its still 2016, support pool that provides the defense % for our GvG owned sectors is almost pointless, but it's good to understand the game had some strategy design originally.  Observatories are still important for treasury goods in a small 3x3 space.

For example:

Higher ages take more support pool! For example Colonial has a support factor of 3, so our total support pool is divided by 3 and then parceled out to all our land there. We have more than enough support pool to cover over 20 sectors in Colonial. But Contemporary has a support factor of 12, and at this writing we barely have enough Support pool to get the maximum 75% in our HQ and 50% in the rest of our sectors. When we run out of support pool, some of our sectors will have defense less than 50%, we have already seen some at 49%, 38% and 0% defense. Everyone having an Observatory is important as we expand into higher ages.

Reduced Troops recruitment time - this also makes Alcatraz, Rogue and Champion collections work on less than 24 hour schedule; we collect troops faster thanks to our guild level bonus, which is about 1/3 less than the time it normally would take, i.e. 16 hours instead of 24, and other troops take about 2.75 hours instead of 4 hours to train.

Forge Points - extra forge points collected from Town Hall each day.  The max is +12 FPS at guild level 98.

Reduced Building costs - a discount on the coins and supplies cost for buildings.

I hope this has clarified the different terms for Guild functions, which are often confused: the difference between Guild Power (collected power to level up the guild), Guild Prestige (earned for our global ranking) and Guild Support (used for our defense bonus on the GvG map.)

Hall of Fame (won in seasonal events)

You can win the Hall of Fame in seasonal events, or I have also seen them in the Antiques Dealer. It produces guild power every 24 hours, which is the best way to level up the guild and get more rewards: the higher our guild level is, the more FP is earned from the Town Hall, and more reduced costs for buildings and reduced time to generate troops (Guild level is why Alcatraz collects in less than 24 hours, unlike every other GB with a collection timer.)

Halls of Fame (HoF) produce more power than holding a sector on any corresponding age map in the game, so they are by far the most effective and consistent power income for the guild.

It's good for every city to have at least one HoF, more when you get space for them, and if you are lucky enough to win some! Halls of Fame should be the first candidate to upgrade with your One up kits or Reno kits as you advance in the game.

Hall of Fame (Level 2)

The Higher the Age of the Hall of Fame, the more Guild Power is produced, and it can be upgraded to Level 2 for even more guild power.

Level 1: Bronze 4, Iron 6, EMA 10, HMA 22, LMA 27, Colonial 35, Industrial 45, Progressive 70, Modern 90, Postmodern 110, Contemporary 135, Tomorrow 160, Future 185, Arctic Future 210, Oceanic Future 235, Virtual Future 260, SAM 285, SAAB 310, SAV 335, SAJM 360.

Level 2: Bronze 6, Iron 9, EMA 15, HMA 35, LMA 44, Colonial 57, Industrial 74, Progressive 118, Modern 153, Postmodern 188, Contemporary 232, Tomorrow 276, Future 320, Arctic Future 364, Oceanic Future 408, Virtual Future 452, SAM 496, SAAB  540, SAV  584, SAJM 628.

These values are all DOUBLED when motivated, so a SAV Hall of fame Level 2 is making 1,168 guild power per day as long as it gets motivated (584 x2) - compared to a SAV Statue of Honor at level 8 which makes 724 power (444 less per day.)

Level 1 power if motivated: Bronze 8, Iron 12, EMA 20, HMA 44, LMA 54, Colonial 70, Industrial 90, Progressive 140, Modern 180, Postmodern 220, Contemporary 270, Tomorrow 320, Future 370, Arctic Future 420, Oceanic Future 470, Virtual Future 520, SAM 570, SAAB 620, SAV 670, SAJM 720.

Level 2 power if motivated: Bronze 12, Iron 18, EMA 30, HMA 70, LMA 88, Colonial 114, Industrial 148, Progressive 236, Modern 306, Postmodern 376, Contemporary 464, Tomorrow 552, Future 640, Arctic Future 728, Oceanic Future 816, Virtual Future 904, SAM 992, SAAB 1080, SAV 1168, SAJM 1256.

For comparison sake, for example, the highest value GvG sectors in Iron age map have a power of 6; when motivated Iron age Hall of Fame Level 1 makes 12 per day, which is twice what we make holding any one of the best sectors on the iron age map. In Future as well as All Ages maps, the highest value sector in each is 192 power. Hall of Fame power for Future and above level Halls of Fame meets or exceeds that by far, even on level 1 and when not motivated.  In fact for Future era and above, Halls of Fame give up to 4 times more daily power than holding sectors on comparable maps.

Statue of Honor or The Great Elephant (won in Battlegrounds)

STATUE OF HONOR (SoH) or The Great Elephant (added for the Waterfall map) is earned in fragments from playing the Guild Battlegrounds and is, for some players, replacing the Hall of Fame as the preferred method of producing guild power, because it also produces forge points and guild treasury goods.

The guild power stats for the Great Elephant are the same as SoH, it's just a variation on the size and graphics, and the Great Elephant includes an attack boost, while the SoH makes more forge pointsAt Future Era and below, a level 5 Statue of Honor produces more power than a Hall of Fame Level 1; but for higher ages FE and up, HoF Level 1 is still more efficient for guild power when motivated, at least until SoH reaches Level 7 or 8.

The Higher the Level of SoH, the more Guild Power is produced, at Level 1:

Bronze 60, Iron 75, EMA 90, HMA 105, LMA 120, Colonial 135, Industrial 150, Progressive 165, Modern 180, Postmodern 195, Contemporary 210, Tomorrow 225, Future 240, Arctic Future 255, Oceanic Future 270, Virtual Future 285, Space Age Mars 300, Space Age Asteroid Belt 315, Space Age Venus 330, Space Age Jupiter Moon 345.

SoH guild power maximized at Level 8:

Bronze 130, Iron 163, EMA 196, HMA 229, LMA 262, Colonial 295, Industrial 328, Progressive 361, Modern 394, Postmodern 427, Contemporary 460, Tomorrow 493, Future 526, Arctic Future 559, Oceanic Future 592, Virtual Future 625, Space Age Mars 658, Space Age Asteroid Belt 691, Space Age Venus 724, Space Age Jupiter Moon 757.

The Statue of Honor can't be motivated, so there is no way to double the guild power, but leveling it up to level 7 or level 8 makes it more efficient than an equivalent age Hall of Fame Level 1But a Hall of Fame upgraded to Level 2 from Tomorrow Era onward is still the all-time champ at producing the most guild power.
