QUANTUM INCURSIONS - Seasons, Tournaments, and Special Quantum Currency

Incursions run every 2 weeks, 11 days on and 3 days off, just like the Battlegrounds schedule, except it starts on the alternating Thursday from Battlegrounds.  Now every Thursday something starts, either an Incursion or a Battleground.

Incursions also have an overall tournament that runs for 3 months or 6 incursions (this is also like the battleground 3 month tournaments for the tower fragments that change every 3 months.)  At the end of the Quantum tournament, the guild receives the overall prize chest for our placing/rank among all guilds on the server.

Everything resets between 2 week incursions (your settlement, your troops, and we start all over on the first map level again) EXCEPT you get to keep any Quantum Shards you have earned or purchased for the duration of the 3 month tournament.  At the end of 3 months, Quantum Shards also reset to the 500 you were given at the beginning.

Shards

Quantum Shards are a premium currency usable only in the Quantum realm.  Similar to diamonds, these can be used in a variety of ways, such as instantly finishing a production or construction, purchasing premium expansions, removing impediments in Quantum Settlement or purchasing Action points.  Quantum Shards can be obtained from participating in Nodes on Quantum map, as milestone rewards in Quantum pass, or purchased directly for diamonds.

You have to use shards to progress.  QI is a treadmill and if you stop running, it will be hard to start back up until the next championship (every 3 months) when you get 500 shards and everything starts over.   Conversely, at the end of a 3 month tournament, on the last seasons you should spend all your shards because nothing will carry forward.

Try each season to earn at least 450 quantum shards in the progress line to buy the starting land again.  It's recommended to buy 3 expansions with shards at the very beginning (see guide below) and it really is necessary.  You also may have to use the quantum shards to keep things moving; I have had to use extra shards I earned to rush supplies, or rush buildings for troops or goods when I can't be perfect on the 10 hours collection or don't have time to wait.  You have to use the shards you earn to keep up, so that you can earn more shards to do the same thing next time.  Treadmill...

The thing I don't like about this is if you break that rhythm it's hard to make it up and it will affect the next season if you don't carryover 450 shards.  Obviously I don't spend any shards on stupid chests at the end, only open the free ones or you'll be short of shards where you really need them.

QUANTUM INCURSIONS - Overall Guide and FAQ

Quantum Officers: Diverging paths don't happen until level 5 or above (view QI map layouts here,) but when there are diverging paths, pick the path that has the node in it that looks like those Garrison nodes pictured on the right.  If it lets you read the node description, it says something like "Clear this node to strengthen your Guild in the Boss fight!"

Well that's not the whole truth, it gives everyone in the guild a red and blue boost for all the nodes for the rest of that level after we clear it, including the final boss.  If there is a path with this Garrison node in it, pictured to the right, pick that path over anything else.

All the nodes are described on page 3, all about the "QUANTUM MAP NODES" in the Overview Guide below (all credit to Norse for the  PDFS shared on the Beta Forum, and used here.)

QUANTUM INCURSIONS - Quantum Settlement

The first several days of an incursion are spent getting the settlement up to speed; until then you subsist on the starting goods and troops you were given, so try to keep them alive!  See the iron age fighting tips thread in the guild messages for tips on making your troops last longer, or head to the page with troop advice on the website.

Settlement after "Step 9" in the PDF guide.

This was my completed settlement following the PDF guide below, it took the first 4 days just to build up the settlement to where it can produce.  I only bought 1 more land expansion for 30 goods, and I didn't see any need to expand more as I was able to fit the 2 barracks and 2 goods I can make.  Now all that is needed is keep collecting coins and supplies, and produce troops or goods based on what the current node demands.

Important tips:

Settlement Houses for More Action Points

Stopping building the settlement after the basics are in place is wrong. The solution to more Action points is more houses, at the end of "step 9" I had enough houses for +950 Action per hour, even though the display still says I'm only getting the 5000 default per hour. When it pays out at the hour it shows only +5000 added as well, until you refresh the game then you get the other +950. Bugs. Nice. Had to look that up on Discord to figure out they know the displays are wrong for Action points but you do actually earn the extra.

After my settlement was built to the basics on Monday, I was going to leave it there, but 2 days of doing that I'm flush with coins and supplies and waiting around for Actions. And the only way to get more Actions is more houses, and the way to get more houses is more land and supplies to build them.

Settlement Optimized for more Action Points

Make goods to open land, in the Optimized for Action Points settlement, I've opened 4 more plots with goods and built more houses (+200 villa is the best but I had to settle for some roof tile and build another tailor for more supplies) to up the +Action per hour, and you'll have to build another Triumphal arch if you do that to keep happy 120% boost.

It's been a long time since I played settlements and I forgot some tricks!

End result of continuing to build out the settlement, I could have done this a day sooner maybe but I would have waited on supplies regardless:

5 villas = 1000 AP per hour

5 cottage = 500 AP per hour

2 roof tile = 100 AP per hour

I think +1600 Actions per hour is about the max that can be done reasonably. This is IN ADDITION TO the base of 5000 Actions per hour everyone gets.

4 Triumphal arch with that, hits a perfect 150% productivity boost with 0 leftover.

10 tailors and 1 goat farm to support that with supplies. (have also done it with 7 tailors and 2 goat farms, see Example 2 below)

2 barracks and 1 goods - I will have to sell a tailor and rebuild 1 of my goods if we get to a node that wants it.

Settlement Optimization

Having done this 3 times now, it seems clear this is the best pattern:

Land expansions:

Look for expansions near town hall with few impediments so they can be easily connected to town hall with fewer roads, as in this example where town hall moved a little inward for efficient roads.

The rest is the same as listed above for houses, 5 villa, 5 cottage, 2 roof tile is optimum, 4 triumphal arch, 2 goat farm, 7 tailor, and 2 barracks and 1 goods that you can interchange as needed.

In the last 2 days on maps 6/7 when the fighting gets harder I was able to add up to 5 victory pillars  or monuments and only dropped from 150% to 120% productivity.  By the end you can afford to take the hit on coins/supplies, when building is done there is no issue keeping up with costs to make troops or goods.  Until then I avoid decorations.

QUANTUM INCURSIONS - Boosts and how to get them.

They really need to add QI boosts to everyone's town hall as it was tough to add up what I should have and what I got when I am actually on the nodes in the QI.  Max available now is 145% red boost for QI and 175% blue boost for QI.  These are the only sources so far except for decorations in your Quantum Settlement.  The final reward for the Polynesia settlement will offer 30% of both red boosts and bring the total possible to 175% for both red and blue.

Red Boosts (145% possible now, 175% with Polynesia final reward)

Settlement rewards, they split red defense/attack, adds to 70/70% of both before Polynesia, then 100/100% of both.

Blue Boosts (175% possible now)

Settlement rewards, they split blue defense/attack, adds to 100/100% of both.

If you're going to go for one of the settlements, do Egypt first, because the Royal Bathhouse gives the most QI boosts, by far, than any other settlement reward.
