Sick Leave
Unit A:
All members earn 15 sick days each year of employment.
In the first year of employment, one day is donated to the sick leave bank.
Sick days are for medical-related absences. Staff are encouraged to make non-critical medical appointments outside of work hours when possible.
Absences must be logged in Frontline.
Unused Sick Days roll over year-to-year. There is no upper limit of sick days.
After 5 consecutive sick days, the district may ask for a doctor's note.
Abusing sick time (taking a sick day when you are not ill) can result in disciplinary action.
Unit D:
All members earn 10 days in their first year and 15 days in each year thereafter.

Employees earn 1 ¼ days paid sick leave per month worked up to a total of 15 days annually for 52 week personnel, thirteen (13) days annually for 45 week personnel and 12 days annually for 41 week personnel.
Employees may 'borrow' sick time up to the total expected accural in one year of employment.

Employees who use less than 4 sick days annually can earn an extra personal day the following year.
