Frontline:
All days when you are not performing your regular job duties should be logged into Frontline, the district's absence management system. This includes:
Absences (sick days, personal days, serious family illness days, bereavement days, MTA/NEA/AEA days, jury duty, military service, vacation days and floating holidays for Unit C, comp days, etc)
Chaperoning Field Trips
Professional Development Days
School Business Days (special ed paperwork days, court business associated with job, mentoring observations or meetings, etc)
Timing:
In general, the more notice you can give the district, the easier it is to find a substitute.
Personal Days require at least 48 hours notice unless there is an emergency. You may be asked the nature of the emergency if you delay submitting a personal day into Frontline.
If you suddenly need to take a sick day less than 90 minutes before the start of the school day, please also text/email/call your administrators so they are aware you won't be in the building.
Sub Plans/Notifications:
If you are a classroom teacher, you should be providing work for students while you are out. You can post work to Google Classroom or leave it in the classroom for a substitute to assign. It is also good practice to make sure another teacher or administrator has a copy of your sub plans.
Everyone should have at least one day of emergency plans ready at the start of the year. This can be review, basic skills, enrichment, or other work that will be meaningful but could be assigned if you are unable to get to work some day and don't have current work ready to assign.
If you have meetings scheduled and are absent, please notify parents and/or other staff that the meeting will need to be rescheduled.
