Galvis & Rheims (2018) describen una nueva especie del género de arañas cangrejo gigantes Anaptomecus, A. yarigui, del departamento andino de Santander, en honor del fiero y extinto grupo indígena Yariguí. Perafán & Valencia-Cuellar (2018) describen una nueva especie de tarántula de la familia Theraphosidae para Colombia, de la región pacífica del departamento del Nariño!
