Here it will be published all the catalogs that the author and the ArachnoTrAC Initiative has been working on the next Colombian regions, as its review and publication progresses! Natural Regions of Colombia

Currently, beautiful Colombia is, at first sight, divided into six natural regions. Arañas de Colombia: Local Catalogs as follows from north to south:

Island Region (Insular)

This region belongs to the Island lands, of Colombia, known colloquially as tierras insulares. The region covers the area of the departments of San Andrés Islas (San Andrés, Providencia, Santa Catalina and associated keys), Valle del Cauca (Malpelo Island), Cauca (Gorgona Island) and many other small islands associated with the mainland, mainly in the north of the country.

Caribbean Region (Caribe)

Mostly lowland plains extending from the northern reaches of the Colombian Andes to the Caribbean Sea. The region covers most of the area of the departments of La Guajira, Magdalena, Cesar, Atlántico, Sucre, Córdoba, and Bolívar. It also includes one of the most biodiverse places in the world: the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta!

Mostly lowland plains extending from the western reaches of the West mountain range of Colombia to the Pacific Ocean. The region covers the Pacific area of the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño.

Central Colombia, including lowland and highland areas mostly of the Andean region and inter-andean valleys of the Magdalena and Cauca rivers. It includes all Pasto Massif, Colombian Massif, West Andes, Central Andes, East Andes, Cauca River Valley and Magdalena River Valley.

Orinoquia Region (Llanos Orientales)

This region belongs to the Orinoco River watershed. It's also known colloquially as the Eastern Plains. The region covers most of the area of the departments of Arauca, Casanare, Meta, and Vichada.

Amazonia Region (Amazonas)

This region belongs to the Amazonas River watershed. It's also known colloquially as the Amazonian region or just Amazonas. The region covers most of the area of the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Guainía, Guaviare, Putumayo, and Vaupés.
