CIS has additional advice for schools that offer education for children in the preschool years up to five years of age. It is applicable to early childhood school settings or early childhood/early years centres that are a section of a school educating a broader age range than early childhood.
Schools catering for early childhood students are required to demonstrate alignment with the four drivers of CIS International Accreditation, both within the formal curriculum and through a range of age and developmentally appropriate activities, learning experiences, and opportunities.
The standards for CIS International Accreditation are to be used in full. If a standard or criteria does not apply to your school (e.g. Domain I), note this in your report. If your school has an attribute or practices that are not covered by the standards within a domain, identify this during your self-evaluation.
Alongside your reports submitted to CIS, include a glossary of terminology and acronyms generally used throughout your school. Evaluators will be expected to use the terminology favoured by the school.
