RE-ACCREDITATION CHOICE
There are two pathways to achieving your CIS re-accreditation, your school can choose what is right for you. The rigour and quality of the protocol remain consistent in both options to enable your school’s improvement.
By choosing Pathway 1, you will validate your international accreditation using an updated framework and will focus your work on the standards within the CIS drivers (purpose & direction, learning & teaching, well-being, and global citizenship & intercultural learning).
The streamlined process since your last accreditation reduces repetition across the standards and essential questions and strengthens your work in areas related to global citizenship, intercultural learning, and safeguarding. The process will help your community reflect on how the school lives its mission, demonstrating improvements made since your last accreditation and looking forward to the school’s further development.
Consider Pathway 1 if:
You would like to validate accreditation using a process similar to your last accreditation cycle. Staff who participated in the last accreditation will be familiar with the process.
Your school community wishes to reflect on progress towards standards across all drivers as you evaluate your development over the last five years since your last CIS International Accreditation.
The school will benefit from a review of standards in a wide range of areas to support your strategic planning.
The school has undergone substantial change during the last five years such as a change in governance, ownership, curriculum, or premises.
By choosing Pathway 2, you will validate your international accreditation through a deep dive focus into one of the drivers (learning & teaching, well-being, and global citizenship & intercultural learning).
This option allows you to choose an area of focus according to your school’s strategic priorities, committing to substantial innovation aligned with related standards in that area.
Your school leadership team will choose the pathway that aligns best with your school’s stage of development and strategic plan.
Consider Pathway 2 if:
You would like to focus your school’s development on an area of strategic priority, implementing and embedding innovative practices to make an impact in your school community.
Your strategic plan prioritises development in an area related to one of the drivers.
You have discussed plans to innovate in an area related to one of the drivers, and you plan to use the accreditation process to validate innovative practices that go beyond the standards.
You wish to develop capacity in your community to innovate and implement change and strengthen the school’s reputation for leading practice.
For Schools choosing Pathway 2: To maintain the consistency and rigour of CIS International Accreditation, your school will provide evaluative commentary for each of the drivers to reflect progress since the last accreditation cycle, providing an overview of what is working well and what could be improved.
Whichever pathway you take to validate your accreditation, you will benefit from a rigorous experience that supports continuous improvement for your school through a peer review process.
To demonstrate to parents, students, and staff members your school’s ongoing commitment to high-quality international education.
