APG School operates in two campuses: KG and the main campus for primary, middle and high school students. From the virtual live visit, the evaluation team saw that both campuses are well-maintained, equipped, and fully support the school’s mission and sustain its purpose for effective teaching and learning. The school provides a safe, secure, clean, and healthy environment for all students and staff at the school.
APG School has a comprehensive Health and Safety Policy Manual that provides all the information regarding safety procedures at the school premises which includes emergency drills, school clinic daily operation, duties and responsibilities of the safety team. The safety team consists of the principal as the school incident commander, health and safety head and teachers appointed for this role (usually PE teachers). The safety team is also responsible for supervising students' arrival and dismissal. During the arrival and dismissal observation the visiting team has noted the danger of crossing the road by students, especially primary, in order to reach the school gate.
Close attention is paid to safety precautions in teaching areas, such as science laboratories, sport playgrounds, etc. However, during the school tour the visiting team noticed that the chemical storage room did not have proper ventilation.
Signage is in place all around the school with the special attention to COVID-19 reference, social distance lines, sanitizers, and information sheets.
In the interview with teachers, it was mentioned that they have fire drills on a regular basis and they are usually unannounced. Students are taught the procedure at the beginning of each academic year. However, neither teachers nor students mentioned the practice of lock down drill.
There are designated areas for assemblies for KG, primary, middle/high school students, but the outdoor space is limited which may prevent emergency vehicles to access the school in case of emergency.
In the interviews with students and parents, it was explicitly said that all members of the school community feel safe and secure at school.

The school information technology infrastructure and data systems support the school's teaching and learning. Each classroom in primary, middle, and high school has a smart board. The school provides access to various digital learning platforms for student and parents, especially with the transition to online learning due to pandemic.
ADL, the school digital platform, has been created for the purpose of school's online learning and is widely used for blended learning at the moment. Students who are still at home can access all the learning materials. Parents are given information on how to access it and can track their child's progress by seeing grades in markbook. Students in 9-12 use Managebac for their learning.
The APG Technology Map shows consistent development of IT technologies in school in 2008-2019.
The APG Technology Plan 2020-2023 approved by the board, introduces thorough and clear goals for further improvement of information and communication technology provision of media and print resources to enhance all learning programs.
High school students bring their own laptops to classrooms. All measures are taken by IT department for data protection.
The students are constantly reminded about online safety precautions and it has been reinforced by teachers at school.
Some IBDP students are taking independent courses via PAMOJA learning platform, and there is a designated person who liaises with the course facilitator on student's progress.

The school provides security, medical support, food services, cleanliness, and proper maintenance to support its mission and the education programs offered, and ensures that such services meet standards of safety, efficiency, and comfort.
There is one security guard who oversees safety on campus and monitors access to school through the main entrance. He is supported by the safety team members during the students' arrival and dismissal or during special events.
At the moment there is only one nurse serving students in grades 1-12. The school administration is in the process of hiring another nurse to fully support all students and staff on campus. The school clinic is well-maintained and complies with local and international requirements for medical storage and record keeping. The nurse is responsible for checking temperature of all students and staff entering the school every day. The health needs of students at the KG campus are addressed by the caretaker and several members of staff who are first-aid trained. Evidence shows that emergency procedures are in place and well-communicated among KG staff and parents.
The school food services are outsourced. Students in primary, middle, and high school can buy drinks or food from the two canteens provided. Some parents prefer their child to bring food from home.
Maintenance and cleanliness are provided by the maintenance department. Bus services are no longer provided by the school. There is an external company which provides transportation on a daily basis organized by a parent committee.
Regular monitoring and evaluation of auxiliary services is conducted through questionnaires and surveys by all stakeholders.
Auxiliary services have not been provided with formal training and professional development and have no record of any kind of child protection training. The science technician has only had first aid training but no recent chemical safety training.
By the requirement of the Ministry of Labor all staff have to provide criminal background checks before being employed. The school HR department makes sure that all formal procedures are followed.
Commendations : None at this time.
Recommendations :
Domain G Standard 3 - The higher leadership team to provide formal training on child protection for all auxiliary services staff.
Domain G Standard 3 - The higher leadership team to provide a formal training for the science lab technician on safety with chemicals for science technicians in laboratories.
