SECURITY INSIDE THE APARTMENT

We are not responsible for personal valuables, whether they are inside or outside the apartment.

Although our city is quite safe, we recommend that when you leave the apartment you lock the door and avoid leaving valuable objects outside the apartment: such as the garden, terrace or balcony.

Close doors and windows when you are outside, especially those overlooking the garden or terrace.

In case of emergency call 112, remember which apartment you are in so that you can inform them correctly.

On the landings between floors there are fire extinguishers, use them only in an emergency and properly.

We would appreciate it if you could inform us in case of emergency, and if necessary help, by phone, WhatsApp or SMS at +34 682.806.871.

How to act in case of fire

The first thing to know, as a basic rule, is that when you hear someone warn of a fire or discover a fire, the first few minutes of the fire and the way to act are key and will make it easier for the emergency services to control it. Try not to get nervous and do not run.

Depending on the severity of the fire and where it is, you will have to act differently:

  1. If the fire is inside the apartment

If it is a small fire, one should try to extinguish it, hence the importance of detecting it quickly and having means of extinction within reach. There is an extinguisher on the landings between floors. To use it, remove the protective ring and direct the jet to the base of the flame. In the event that you cannot extinguish it, because it is too big or because there is so much smoke in the house that you do not know where it is, there are two ways of acting: evacuate and go outside, or confine yourself to the building.

  • If you can get out of the apartment

- Close all the doors that you leave behind you, so that the fire will have less virulence and will develop more slowly as there is no air supply.

- Take the keys to the apartment.

- Never go back to get your belongings. The main thing is to save your life and the lives of others, not your things.

- Leave the building by the stairs. Never use the elevator, as you could be trapped by an electrical failure caused by fire.

- Call the emergency phone, 112, from a safe location. Don't assume someone has already called.

- Wait until the Emergency Services arrive and explain to them where the fire is.

  • If you can't leave the apartment

- If the fire in the apartment prevents access to the exit door, go to the room furthest from the fire to take refuge, closing all the doors you find in your way.

- If possible, turn off the air conditioning if it is on, as smoke could spread through the ducts.

- Stay in the farthest room until the Emergency Services arrive.

- Close the door and cover the slits to prevent smoke from entering using towels, rags or wet clothes.

- Also protect yourself from the smoke by wetting a cloth and putting it over your mouth and nose to breathe through it.

- Call the emergency telephone number, 112, to report what is happening and where you are. Remember which apartment you are in so that you can report it correctly.

- Do not hide and stay close to the ground, where the air is cleaner.

- Go out to the balcony and make yourself visible so that you can be rescued from the outside.

  1. If you are on a floor below where the fire is

- If the fire is on a floor of the building above you, you can go outside by going down the stairs, because as the smoke tends to go up, it will almost certainly be clear. But remember: always be very careful.

- If at any time you detect smoke on the stairs, close the door of the apartment and do not go out.

  1. If you are on a floor above the fire

- If the fire is on a floor of the building below you, close all the windows and balconies of your apartment quickly.

- In this case it is recommended not to leave the building, as we do not know the seriousness of the fire and the state of the affected floor and its surroundings.

- Protect yourself and stay in the apartment until you are rescued or informed that you can leave.

  1. If the smoke is on the stairs

- If you detect smoke on the stairs, prevent it from entering by placing wet towels or clothes at the bottom of the door.

- Close all windows.

- If possible, turn off the air conditioning if it is on, as smoke could spread through the ducts.

- Call the emergency telephone number, 112, indicating which apartment you are in.

- Stay in the building until you are told by the Emergency Services.

  1. If smoke has entered the apartment

- Call the emergency phone, 112, and let them know where you are. Then go to the balcony and close the doors you leave behind. If you cannot access the balcony, go to the room with the least amount of smoke, close the door and seal it with towels or wet clothes.

- Wet the windows too if the flames reach them.

- Show the emergency personnel where you are standing from the balcony.

- Protect your nose and mouth with a damp cloth to breathe.

- Stay on the ground where the air is cleanest.

- Follow the instructions of authorities and emergency teams at all times.
