As assembled by Ceanna.
Founding Aoide
Tethys founded Aoide (named after the muse of song; Tethey mentioned two other muses too, Melete (wisdom/contemplation) and Mneme (memory). [s1]
Intended to enter Elysium (part of Fae realm??) en route, but was ‘hijacked’ by Norse Gods [s2]
Later reconciled when three muses welcomed by Odin [s8]
The Tree
Tethys created (??) the tree, with a complicated faerie region inside [s17]
Martin’s Cauldron & Loki
Martin’s cauldron behaved oddly while watching the eggs?? [s6/7]
Session notes make reference to seeing invisible Loki?? [s6]
Several trigger-happy Flambeau hired a ship called the Heimdall to visit Iceland [pre-game]
Pan Caudrax detected the ‘murder in their hearts’ and destroyed the ship [pre-game]
Also aboard were Einar’s wife and children. Seeking revenge, he killed Pan Caudrax’s mate, and tried to destroy their eggs. [s5]
We saved the eggs, and told Pan Caudrax when Einar was killed. [many sessions, Einar died in s34]
Einar was hiding inside a region accessed via the Glittering Plain. The region consists of a super long tunnel that leads to a valley. The valley is home to giants, some nice and some nasty. The giant kings are Odin’s brothers. We rescue the nice giant’s kids from the nasty giants. The nasty giants have a ziggurat and sphinxes [s34]
Aoide often visited by a redcap called Rufus [pre s22]
Rufus was kidnapped in Scotland by people ultimately serving the Spider [s22]
They tortured Rufus to get his heirloom, but he’d left it at Aoide [s22]
We recovered the heirloom, and stopped Rufus’s fiancée Galera from stealing it (she served the Spider to get her Gift back) [s23]
We have warned various parts of the order that the Spider is less dead than is commonly believed [s23]
We still have the heirloom (a tooth/claw).
Pan Caudrax, a dragon who kinda like us
A magic bull that we stole from the church
A magic bird that we stole from the church [s15]
The Bard, a giant [s15]
Giants & Thoth - Giants of Clan McGann are stuck in Iceland until they can find a Temple of Thoth. Does the Temple in s35 count? [s15]
Yes, it did! The Giants have been sent back to Connacht.
Regio of Dwarves under Glacier [s14]
Magic cats and their magic dolphin friend [s21]
Correspondance with Socrates from Germany [s21]
Wepwawet was held prisoner by two magi, Abraxas and Varina
We go to tower where he was captive, and find location of what turns out to be Temple of Hermes (and get mad loot there)
Also find note about “creation of vis” aka Legacy of Herisson, and a map to Germany
Vindolanda was founded to watch battlefield of Spider; founding members were Victor, Ealasaid and Macomb. They studied an obsidian gatestone recovered from the Spider.
The gatestone led to valley in Iceland/Egypt, Kelringarfjoll Valley. Valley has region overlaying it, making climate warm and pleasant (aura 0). Low level aura (4) has ruined Egyptian temple; high level aura (9, only affects spells to open gate) has intact Egyptian temple. Prayer to Thoth to go from medium to high level aura. 5 gateways, but other sides are broken. Alos present is an obsidian archway, that we want to go through
Ealasaid built 3 new gatestones and gave one to each member. Victor used his to establish a lab in Snaesfell (in Iceland); other two locations are unknown
In 875, the Vindolanda magi capture Hetep, a fallen spirit of Thoth who served the Spider. Victor decided to redeem Hetep and the other Vindolanda magi disconnect his gatestone from Victor’s sanctum and task Iain (Duncan’s father, and Brigit’s grandfather) with protecting it. Victor builds a new lab in Aoide, as his old one was in the Isle of Man.
Iain has a external soul/phylactery and this is why he’s still alive.
Much later, Lord Peter (a diabolist) stole the gatestone from Duncan and kidnapped Brigit. Peter used the gatestone to travel to Victor’s sanctum, which is underneath Aoide. The PCs defeated Peter, but not before Hetep could possess Brigit. Victor took Brigit as his apprentice to strengthen her to fight off Hetep. Victor hatches a convoluted plan to get Hetep to reveal the location of the Spider, which will be put to test when Brigit faces her gauntlet.
Brigit gauntlet: defeat Hetep. We cannot interfere with *this* but can interfere with other demons. Hetep knows where the Spider is, and will possess Brigit and use her Leap of Homecoming to visit the Spider. Unbeknownst to Hetep, whatever Brigit sees is displayed in a mirror. When Hetep pilots her to the Spider, we’ll see this in the mirror and use Arcane Connections to Brigit to leap in and stop Hetep affecting anything but Brigit and stop anything that’s not Hetep from affecting her.
The convoluted plan failed, and Hetep is now free, having achieved his goal.
We have an arcane connection to Ealasaid’s lab, and found some Aquam spells and a couple of Vim spells, including theurgy spells to summon and coerce a spirit, and a Creo(Rego) Aurum spell to create an underwater bubble spell. And Rego Vim 80 spell that’s incomplete called Obsidian Gate plus 20 lab notes. Initiation script into Theurgy. Real location - Isle of Lundy, Bristol Channel. Ealasaid was killed in her lab by the Spider (or someone else? Her ghost wasn’t sure, but brought the ceiling down to trap him. Hetep has now freed him, oopsie).
