Spring 1256 to End of 1256.
Qiliaq is traied by Urgen in Gothic and then a bit of Bjornear lore, before being taken on a feild trip in the Autumn. Urgen had declared wizard's war on a Flambeau in the Stonehenge Tribunal. The Magus had been a member of Blackthorn but they kicked him out when they found out who was on his case. His crime was to kill a Bjornear apprentice (heartbeast puffin) whilst they were in heartbeast form, and so Urgen wanted Qiliaq blooded.
He was run to ground in a crypt, where it was hoped the divine would suppress the magic. Alas claws do not need an Aura...
Ahnah andd Unstoffe were employed helping their master Binro improve his talisman to better detect and command ghosts and spirirts. In form the talisman is a leaden staff with a silver skull atop that Ahnah thought was very cool.
However, Ahnah was bored in Nicea, and found Unstoffe a bit of a wet fish, so she tried to take him drinking in Constantinople. There was a new-fangled entertainment about so they decided to try it. It turned out to be a play called "The Birds" by Aristophanes, recently translated back into greek.... In fact it was exaclty the same that Ahanah and the others had rewritten a few months earlier in Rejkyavik. Hmm.
After that they went on a pub crawl, and after inadvisedly showing off their magic skills, and were approached by a beggar-band who said "they knew what they were looking for". They were led to a dark alley when a jewelled bird (a Nightingale that claimed to have been owned by the Emperor Justinanian, and created origianly by Hypatia) revealed itself. It had used the beggars to try and find someone intelligent to talk to, and now it had found Ahnah..... The girls have managed to get a inter-apprentice phone system set up, and Illi seems intrigued by all the Mechana of Heron, and maybe this is how she could make a name for herself?
While Pumilius was busy learning the art of reforging, Iluliaq inveigled herslef into the good books of Occultes the previous Librarian. Durnemar is still in shock about the tragedy of Ricardus, but Occultes let Illi have a good book to amuse herself, and made sure that they had nice fireside chats with cake.
At one of these chats an old Magus burst in (ignoring Illi) and greeted Occultes as on old Friend. Ths is Lucian of House Merinita from the covenant of Aegea in the Theban tribunal. He is concerned about a new play that is circulating called the Birds that he has seen in Fez and heard of in Bordeaux. Before he could drift off more, he fell into conversation with Illi (he is easily distracted, and often mistakes himself for characters of legend)
He manages to establish that the three sisters, despite having a farie-tale origin story (found in a basket according to Orlaith) are definitely not Fae, and Illi is very intrigued with this fact.
Finally the Cats arrive at Aoide seeking sanctuary. Without Pan Caudrax as a guardian they fear being claimed and experimented on as they were before. The Magi graciously offer them hospitality.
Note to Players. Next session will be the Gauntlets, but as this is waaaay before it should be, there will be an in-game reason as to why this is so soon. This means that the students will not be expecting it, but the players should think of what a cool gauntlet might be in each case.
